Final Fantasy Influence

OK, so I've noticed some "similarities" I guess you could call them, between the KH series and the FF series. I was wondering if Nomura was thinking of FF characters when he made KH. Ahem.....


1. Tidus/Sora
2. Yuna/Kairi
Sora first meets Kairi on an island. Tidus first meets Yuna on an island. Tidus gets carried away from his home. Sora gets sucked into the darkness away from his home. In the second game, Kairi wants to find Sora. Same with Yuna in the sequel. (I'm talking about the FF counterparts, for those who don't know)

3. Denzel/Roxas/Ven (Since Ven looks like Roxas)

Anyone notice a similarity? They kinda look alike.

Look at the faces and the hair.

4. Axel/Reno
We already know about this one, Nomura said Axel's Somebody is Ale, Reno's favorite drink.

5. Traverse Town/Kalm
I noticed the towns kinda look alike.

6. Silver Hair
Why do all the bad guys (Sephiroth, Xehanort, Ansem Seeker of Darkness, Xemnas, Riku [bad at one time]) have silver hair?

7. Zack/Terra
Their hairstyle is very similar.

I think Nomura kinda "borrowed" stuff from FF to use in KH. What do you think?

You do realize Nomura was behind the makings of both FFX, FFVII, and KH, right? Ergo, it doesn't matter if he borrowed stuff from FF to use in KH. It's really a win-win situation for him, as he's really not too creative to begin with.

I understand that, but seeing as how this is the Discussion corner, I thought it'd be interesting/fun to look over the similarities he put in there. Think of it like a "Find It!" game.

He took more then that, the concepts behind KH are very FF. Example, a tiny party sent out to battle the massive hordes of evil for the sake of returning the balance of light and darkness. Also the world of light and darkness are things in FF3, probubly just a coincidence but its there. Most of Org XIII are based on classes from previous FF games. little stuff like that. It seems like people forget that KH was made to be FF+Disney so yeah Nomura most likely reuses stuff.

You can't really use hair. In all those games they have those "We-defy-gravity" type of hairs.

And It wouldn't be really borrowing stuff. It's just using clichés all over again.

Oh, and if you didn't notice, Selphie hangs around with....you guessed it! Tidus and Wakka. In the first game, you spar with both of them, and in the second game, Selphie complains about them not wanting to go to the island with her.

And he does play a role in each of those games too.

EDIT: And I believe you meant to say Axel's somebody, instead of nobody. Since he is a nobody.

Yeah, this is old news.... There are also loads of other similiarites like Roxas = Cloud Olette kinda looks like a younger Aerith. Belts and zippers and so on and so on...
