Look Ven's heart did become a part of sora's be it was slpit away from sora when he sacraficed himself. Roxas's heart can't be made up of sora's and ven's heart. THERE CAN ONLY BE ONE.

An in depth definition with blatantly canon reference points? Well, I'm not sure. I don't think I can, but then again, I'm not a retarded fangirl, so I can't really say what a heart is with the works.
I can say this though:
A heart. The basic fundamental entity that controls who we are and what we are. A heart, something so simple, yet so complex determines so much to who we are. It determines our ages, physical appearance, even our gender. Certainly there must be some sort of clue inside as to what a heart is. Unfortunately, there is not. All research on this subject is only fictional, and cannot be referenced directly. But with this I intend to figure out what a heart is.
Before you are born, your heart passes through a place called the Station of Awakening…or Chamber of Waking. Whatever Nomura’s calling it these days. A bright orb of light carrying all the data of the person to be traverses this empty room. It enters a sort of apex before it crosses over into the realm of light. But it is not seen doing so. It goes inside of the body to be born and then… it’s…born. Now, I’m just a simple fireman/ porn star/ adventurer/ slacker, but before a baby is born, it has to enter the womb via means of “donor material“. And I’ve seen enough hentai to know that this “donor material” is white and shiny, just like a heart. That has no purpose, I only thought it was funny. The donor material makes a baby, and the baby grows through phases; embryo, fetus, etc. This whole time, this entity to be born lacks a heart. One could say that it share’s its mother’s heart, but I think I’m going too far back. The point of this paragraph is to say “GENETICS BE DAMNED.” This explains physical appearance.
A bastard youth by the name of Ven forsook his family and followed a man to the ends of the worlds as his apprentice. This man’s name…is Master Xehanort; effectively known as MX from here on out. Through an event unforeseeable by his parents, Ven’s heart became split into 2: Ventus, the original, and Vanitas, his darker half. This caused Ven to go into a coma. Considering that our heart is what makes us what we are, it’d make sense that he’d go to sleep once his heart fractured. His heart, being programmed to do what it does sought to return to Kingdom Hearts. As it passed through the Station of Awakening for what would be it’s final return to the source, the heart of fate was born; a boy called Sora [you say the whole thing] Ven’s heart asked Sora’s heart if it could sponge off of it for a while, and Sora being who he was, said yes. Ven’s heart, being the leech like it did, took refuse in Sora’s heart. And that, altered sora’s appearance to look like Ven. So it’s not so much as Roxas looks like Ven, it’s the Roxas looks like Sora who looks like Ven.
At the age Ven connected his heart to Sora’s was his mid teens. So when Sora in HIS teens released his heart, it released Ven’s heart, which was permanently frozen at the age of 15. At the same time, Sora released Kairi’s heart at the same time. Kairi’s heart used Sora’s shell as an intermediary to create Namine, a femanle nobody.
All in all I can say this, judging by the info given in game about the heart, one could say that the heart is the essential building block for a person. Without it, the shell is just a blank, pointless, empty, nonessential husk with no identity. Considering that the heart is not only our gender, it determines our age, appearance, and who you are, I’d say that our shell without our heart, has no real identity of our own. The heart, for all intents and purposes, is a sort of identification card. And given that the heart is also the proof of life, I’d also say that without one, in the KH Universe, your ass is…Grass.
Alright I get it now. But whaddya mean by " It's been confirmed since 2004" how is that possible.
