The panel system allows you to create weapon links, which alter the keyblade. The one you see is the Kingdom Key linked to a Wind Gear panel, creating the Wind Maker keyblade. This is the general format for acquiring new keyblades. The other members of Organization XIII will have customizable weapons as well in a similar manner of linking panels.

a KH1 Riku who looks distressed. His lines come straight
out of Chain of Memories, so he must be speaking to Riku.
Zexion: You’ve been to a number of worlds in your memory before this one
Zexion: Surely you knew this would happen
Zexion: Maybe it’s your own actions that you forgot
A new screen that appears to be an addition to the scene where Xion
and Riku are talking on the back side of Destiny Island.
Xion: I’m remembering, Sora and Kairi
In order to collect hearts and suprress the Heartless, Demyx and Roxas
visit Olympus Coliseum from Hercules. They watch Phil talking about fighting styles
and he mistakes Roxas for a pupil applicant. Phil’s training consists of challenging
missions where you not only use techniques but also need to use your head.
Also, Demyx’s sitar appears in two different graphic types.
Phil: Herc was talking about you guys
