Anyway it's likely something was blocking Xemnas from doing so. No formal answer has ever been given. If you remember from KH2, Roxas couldn't summon his keyblade because he didn't remember how to. Until he had his awakening he had to have a digital keyblade made for him. If someone can't remember how to use the keyblade they can't summon it. Now Xehanort suffer from memory loss after Ansem the Wise found him, so it's likely he didn't remember he had a keyblade at all. Since his other didn't remember and Xemnas lacked a heart of his own, he could never awaken the keyblade. Where as Roxas who likely has Ven's heart was able to do so.
n9mura hinted it was more like he chose not to, which still is just as bad as he forgot.Shinkirō;5309906 said:It would be unlike Nomura to leave it with something as simple as "he forgot", so I should hope the full explanation is rather detailed.
he gave it as a possible explanation, not -the- explanation.n9mura hinted it was more like he chose not to, which still is just as bad as he forgot.
He wouldn`t say that he`d want it to remain a mystery only to give the actual answer right after. There`s obviously a bit more to it.—Roxas, the “Sora + Ventus” Nobody, was able to use a Keyblade. In contrast Xemnas, the “Terra + Master Xehanort” Nobody wasn’t able to use a Keyblade. Why is this?
NOMURA: I’d rather that point remain a mystery. It’s possible that he intentionally wasn’t using one.
he could've sounded more reassuring though. like "i can't answer that to you now, pplease wait" instead give a vague hint suggesting it might possibly be a reason in the futureOr he did think it through and wants it to remain a mystery for now.
i think it's int he mystery game or 3d.Shinkirō;5309938 said:Or he's leaving it for KH3, potentially.
that could be true you never know what he's doing with the story line and he could possibly be putting that info in kh3 since it'll most likely be then end of the sora saga idkShinkirō;5309938 said:Or he's leaving it for KH3, potentially.
The locking happened before he could open the door to Radiant Garden's heart, so, he could still wield it. At some point when he let his heart run into darkness, he lost that ability to wield a keyblade.
It wasn't seen again after he stabbed himself, so whatever that "stabbing" did, is the reason why he probably can't use it.
Nomura's answer was horrible "it's possible he's intentionally not using it", after all the lengths he goes to to procure a keybearer, he just chooses not to use it? Yeah, probably not the real answer.
