Also, he didn't merge with Sora right after the fight. He went off and was emo at being beaten for a bit (Haha, editorials) THEN he merged with Sora.

Yeah even a noob would see that outcome easily, Roxas and Sora became whole again in the end when both merged to become 100 %.
