Valentine Shuffle
His life was thrown into the gutters of society,
As was the life of his love,
His passion no longer existent in sobriety,
Then spawned a pursuit thereof.
Oh my darling, oh my darling,
Oh my darling, Clementine,
No memories, only inklings,
Before Clement Valentine.
Seeking the cause of his loss,
Not knowing his real identity,
Starting the search for The Boss,
No intention of amenity.
And the story starts from this, a poem, but becomes much more than that. A short story that begins as soon as I start writing it. Valentine Shuffle is about a man who does not know who he is, only that he and his family were run off of the road by a midnight blue car. The passenger inside wore a suit, and out of the suit was a napkin that bore an engraved insignia. He awakes on a beach, knows that the two women ( one beautiful and in her twenties, one a baby girl ) in his car ( he knows not what they are to him, only that he feels some great, strange, connection with them ) are gone forever, and puts his objectives in order. He wants to find who killed them. He knows not why, but he feels he must. Besides, what else has he to remember to live for?
In the distance, he hears a song sung terribly. The words are slurred.
"Oh my darling, oh my darling,
Oh my darling, Clementine.
Will you please babe, wont you please,
For this day, be my Valentine."
He starts.
Whenever I decide to start writing this. It should be soon. But I'd like to attract some people before doing so.
