Is everyone gonna need to sign up for a character? Or can people just sorta take control of NPCs when needed, such as a fight between yourself and a more minor member of an archetype, or uncontroled member.

Some characters will naturally need to be power played by anyone at anytime, egardless, like super-super-in-the-background characters or just for some flavor text. Fights and wide-scale battles would need this, of course.
