Just because something has more potential to you does not mean it should be used. If any sort of treat were to be used it would have to be correct in context and follow one of the themes of the game. Ice cream for friendship is good for BBS so it should have more of a chance than the paopu just going by that.

You're forgetting that the Paopu is a fruit that is supposed to seal destinies together and tie lives up as inseperable.
Part of why it was used as little as it was thus far is that you can't really show TAV sharing a Paopu fruit after a mission or a training session. It's too extreme for such a "common" motif.

If that were to happen you run into the problem of the paopu being the object that just gets whatever meaning slapped onto it. It can only have one real meaning.

I don't see them giving the Paopu fruit a new meaning.
It killing SoKai aside, you don't base something and have its meaning last for like 3 games, just to end up changing it to fit a new environment.
It's pointless and redundant and stupid. They'd be better off making a whole new fruit or something if they want to go with a new concept to it.

That would change the meaning completely. The entire thing about the Paopu is that it's irreversible and eternal (no, the two aren't one and the same).

Never said it couldn't. You saw how well I think it could be used on the other thread.
If by 'special food' however we think of something along the lines of Sea Salt, Paopu isn't even an option.

This argument is very contradictory. It can't be something they snack after for the simple reason that the paopu fruit is on Destiny Islands only. This is not saying the paopu can't be used as it is in the other topic. It would just not be this common, however if it were used to the extent proposed on the other thread, the paopu fruit could very well surpass the sea salt ice cream in terms of importance.

That would be just as redundant as giving the paopu fruit another meaning. In the sense we were talking about the paopu it wouldn't even be a snack. Then there would be three foods two that have some based importance and meaning and one just for the hell of it. That's pretty insane.

The thing is, the 'snack time' one has its own importance. It's just something seemingly more mundane so they can use it a lot more often.

In many ways, I prefer the Sea Salt's motif better. "We're not always going to be together, so let's make the time we do have together count" (C) Hayner.
The Paopu is constricting. It kind of reminds me the bad after-taste SoKai's supposed promise to RokuNami left me. It's not that Sora and Kairi will be together because they care, but because they promised those complete blonde strangers that ended up living inside them. It's the sort of thing one should offer without being forced into, hence why I prefer the Sea Salt.
You choose to spend the time eating ice cream with your friends.
You don't put a handcuff around your destiny and tie it to someone else's. You should do that on your own if you care enough.
