Well, as I've said before, I recall reading somewhere that Christopher Lee felt he was getting too old to make long-distance travels. So that might be it. But I could be wrong.

He could've at least just recorded his own voice for the game. I believe Ali Hillis (Lightning VA) said that along with her audition tape, that SE did permit her to do some lines at home in her "studio" (It was just her closet I believe she said)

I just don't really understand why he'd come back for Days with little material SE coul've just recycled, but didn't for BbS. Corey was great this time around, and it's heavenly to see Hayden back.

However this does raise a liable question will Hayden voice Xion if she appears in the near future? (Doesn't Xion have a line in the S. Ending?)

I noticed that if the VA's sounded off in the beginning, well they absolutely nail the more emotional bits later in the game.

Xion wasn't credited in Japanese either. Xion is Alyson. Which leaves us with the obvious answer on who Hayden is.

What do you guys think of HJO as Vanitas? You think he pulled it off or not?

From what I saw, HJO made vanitas' voice obnoxious, cocky, confident, and pretty darn dark. I havnt seen the ending when he fuses with ven, but from what I saw I think he did a decent job.
