Me too. And we've seen what the Book of Prophecies can do for three years now... if Maleficent truly has it, her threat level is officially Xehanort tier.I am just happy that Maleficent will get relevant again.
Thanks for the hard work. And you too Sign. I'm now so confused though. We dreamed everything? After Master Ava invited us, we dreamed the rest of the game? How did we randomly fall asleep in Echanted Dominion? How did we even get there? How can Player even sleep there? It's like super dangerous with all that Darkness that attracts Heartless? Dafuq is a Chirithy gonna do against a Heartless???????Like last time here's my off-the-cuff translation
Spoiler ShowUnchained 0[ZERO]
(Scenes with Skuld and Ephemera flash over and over)
(Player opens his eyes)
Player: ... Ephemera, Skuld...
(It's revealed Player and Chirithy are laying in a field in Enchanted Dominion)
Player: What happened..?
(Player wakes up Chirithy and looks around)
Player: I...
Chirithy: That dream again?
Player: A dream...
Chirithy: Ever since that day, it seems like you've had it a lot, are you OK?
Player: That day?
Chirithy: Master Ava invited you to the Dandelions, you spoke to Skuld at the water fountain, and saw her off to be a Dandelion. Ever since that day, sometimes you've had a strange dream.
Player: Is that so... but, why did I fall asleep in a place like this?
IMPORTANT: The verb used for "sleep" here can also mean "to die"
Chirithy: Well, lately things have been intense and tiring, maybe you came to this new world to be free? It's OK to goof off once in a while.
(Chirithy walks off)
Chirithy: Oh...
(Player runs to Chirithy and finds a wall of dark thorns)
Chirithy: Guess we can't go this way. How about we go back for today, think about what to do, and come back with a fresh start?
(Player nods as Maleficent's Raven flies over the thorns)
Chirithy: Not like we have wings. Well, let's go.
Next scene
(Raven meets Maleficent on the other side of the thorns)
Maleficent: You did well.
(Raven caws happily)
Maleficent: At any rate, where did they go this time? No matter, in this world, Sora and his friends can't interfere. Intruders aren't allowed.
(insert Maleficent-cackle.wmv)
Reconnect. KINGDOM HEARTS
WHAT DOES IT MEAN
1. I think that's the most plausible.Hmmmm.
I have three thoughts in my head from this.
1. Maleficent has entered the Book of Prophecies.
2. She's got a protective barrier around Enchanted Dominion and we've been summoned to the future.
3. Enchanted Dominion never awoke from the Realm of Sleep and Maleficent has somehow entered this realm.
Well she didn't necessarily "break the bridges". I mean, is Sora & Co. even aware that the Tome of Prophecies exist? Aside from Yen Sid of course. I think she meant it more in the way that no one will find her there, because no one will look there. Because no one knows you can even enter the Tome of Prophecies. Or where the ToP is for that matter. This is definitely something odd...either Player + Chirithy (Ephemer & Skuld) somehow managed to enter the present day (possibly indicating that being "Unchained" means breaking free of the dream/Nightmare one is trapped in) or present-day Maleficent somehow managed to enter the era of x[chi] and her statements about Sora & co. not being capable of interfering this time means that she "broke the bridges" behind her so no one can follow her the same way she entered that era.
The whole thing does have severe Realm of Sleep vibes all over nonetheless.
If she is going to be a main villain again, she probably did learn some new tricks. And I think that she was talking about the ToP when she said "this world".I've thought that being "unchained" was a state of detaching from the Realm of Sleep in some way (like lucid dreaming or like how Sora and Riku were in DDD) since Ava explained the term.
So, following that thinking, Player must be in the Realm of Light now... probably.
But Maleficent says "this world," like there's something special about it. There's nothing special about Enchanted Dominion, unless she's learned some new tricks since her time in the Datascape...
The exposition Xehanort gives about time and time travel in DDD only make sense in a universe where there is only a single timeline.
But if the Player slept outside all that time, how did his body keep up? Shouldn't it be really old now?I think you are overthinking it a tad bit. I would think that Maleficent has found out a way to enter the Realm of Sleep, which has served as a catalyst for the player to essentially snap out of their endless dream. This would mean more that the Player has been dreaming for so long that they have essentially caught up to present day.
Proof that even Nomura starts to think that this time travel business is a bit overcomplicated, so now he made a easy way to time travel. But I don't think Maleficents arrivel will allow the Player to leave, atleast not directly. I think she will be a indirect cause that leads the Player to the discovery that he is actually in a dream. But would Maleficent entering really allow the Player to leave? I'm wary of designating this Enchanted Dominion as the actual present day Realm of Light world instead of possibly another Dream Layer. Allowing persons from what is probably millennia in the past to just pop up in present day like this seems a little too easy (although it IS definitely possible due to time not running at all in the RoS).
It remains to be seen what exactly she did as apparently entering the RoS is no average feat since DDD made it a point to show that despite not gaining the Master title, Sora did earn the same powers as Riku did from the whole adventures, including the ability to enter the RoS on his own volition.
This makes me think, is it possible to bring people from the Datascape or ToP to the real world? Like in KH2 they brought that Munny Pouch from Data TT to the real world....I'm cool with that answer. She is the mistress of all evil after all. What if, Maleficent teams up with Maleficent conjured by the Book of Prophecies? that would be an interesting turn of events indeed...
Maybe she deliberately falls for the trap? Because she want to free everyone from the Dream, not just herself. She is pretty selfless. But if there are layers to the dream and if this is indeed a dream, how does Ava know about it? And if she knows it will just repeat over, why does she fall into the same trap? Unless originally these events actually happened and the Ava we see from now on is just... well, a dream and she's actually long gone.
#MakeMaleficentRelevantAgain
:")
I like where this is going.
Meh, I've always like the original KH villains more.I am just happy that Maleficent will get relevant again.
It's as Maleficent says:2. But why would she summon us to the future? We would probably oppose her, she would have no use for us. I don't think she will be able to turn us to the Darkness.
It fell to darkness after Birth by Sleep. When most world were restored at the end of Kingdom Hearts 1, some of them were stuck in the realm of sleep. It's quite possible Enchanted Dominion could be one of them.3. In BBS we traveled to Enchanted Dominion though, so I don't think it's a Sleeping World.
Now I'm reading this like Maleficent has been in a world created by the Book of PropheciesMaleficent: "It's finally clear."
Pete: "What's that?"
Maleficent: "Why that world they call the "date escape" seemed so familiar."
The whole series has been taking place in the Book of PropheciesNow I'm reading this like Maleficent has been in a world created by the Book of Prophecies
NOMURAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Yes, but she would probably fill it with Heartless and other Dark beings she controls. Why summon a Keybearer? It's as Maleficent says:
"Yes, considering legend has it the book can also conjure, making an entire world filled with beings and powers that have yet to exist".
It's very probably that Maleficent could fill Enchanted Dominion with beings and powers through the book.

After watching that scene from Re:Coded again, a part of it could now make some sense:
Maleficent: "It's finally clear."
Pete: "What's that?"
Maleficent: "Why that world they call the "date escape" seemed so familiar."
Pete: "Huh?"
Maleficent: "A book... known as the ancient Book of Prophecies. It's said to be capable of transcribing events that have yet to take place."
Pete: "No kidding! If we got our mitts on somethin' like that, we could finally take over permanent-like!"
From what she reveals, she knows of the Book of Prophecies. She knows of it's power, which can imply that what we just witnessed in this Special Episode takes place in the past and our current Maleficent has lived through it. What doesn't make sense is that if she has lived through it, where did the book go and why does it sound like she's never seen the book before?
Damn, I've always hated "It was all just a dream." endings. Pls Nomura, don't do this. The whole series has been taking place in the Book of Prophecies

What I'm saying is that I'm interpreting the line differently now that the Short Episode happened.Didn't you not Watch the Re Coded movie or DDD, she mentioned about the book and even wanted the Data to the world's that was recorded from Jimmy's journal believing it to be the book.
What I'm saying is that I'm interpreting the line differently now that the Short Episode happened.
Before it just seems like she's remembering what she's heard of the Book of Prophecies, but now it could mean something different.
What's the chance Xehanort has the Book of Prophecies and that's how he's going to summon the other Xehanort's to the future?
Like this is a 4 minute scene from a cute "non-canon" game and now we've all been diddlyed over. Only Nomura...
So does this further prove that the Book of Prophecies is very similar to Jiminy's Journal (and probably other worlds like 100 Acre Wood)? Was the book just another secret that Xehanort told Maleficent (like the seven princesses, the heartless, and the keyholes)? Is she just being used again to find said book/world -like she apparently has-?

Don't forget that Yen Sid has that book that details the past, present, and future. If Maleficent has one and Xehanort has another, who has the other four instances?
Mickey? Yen Sid? Ansem the Wise?
Like...is any of this for real...or not!?
*beeeeeeep*
Don't forget that Yen Sid has that book that details the past, present, and future.
Ohh boy. One short scene later, and everything we thought we knew about Kingdom Hearts is hurled across the void.
I swear to god, if Nomura actually remembers this opening line and decides to make it important again...
