Use Axel's Weapon?

First of all, I am assuming two things:
1) BOTH scenes with Lea in the JF trailer are from the present, post-KH2/KHDDD timeline.
2) Lea has been completely restored to a Somebody, meaning his heartless is somehow destroyed by the time the events in the video transpire.

Second of all, I would like to point out that the somebodies we've seen so far have different weapon styles than their nobodies.

Obviously, the two weapons are different. If this "Somebodies > Nobodies," relationship applies to everybody, then one of two theories must be correct:

1) Nobodies inherently use different weapons than their Somebodies. Therefore, Lea is either the exception to this rule, or he has found a way to bypass it.

2) The progression from Nobody back to Somebody lets you keep your abilities from your Nobody lifetime (ie, "Somebody > Nobody > Combination/Mix"). Using this theory, Lea probably strengthened his abilities much more so as Axel, so he chose to keep using the abilities from his Nobody.

I have another question I don't know the answer to:
Why does Axel's Tear Drops disappear from Nobody > Somebody, but Xigbar's scar remains from Somebody > Nobody?
Theory: perhaps they weren't actual scars. Perhaps they were just decoration? (for lack of a better word)

I thnk your taking this a bit to far. We know LEA used a frisbee. To me it just may well one of those things that might not get explained. Or perhaps your right and they do retain the same weapon.

Axel's powers were over fire I didn't see him harnessing any fire in that trailer he's just really good at throwing weapons.

I think you make a good point here. On the subject of the teardrop markings: perhaps they are tattoos that he had when he was Axel, a Nobody, but when his Nobody body was gone, he reappeared as Lea in a new body, and thus the tattoos didn't last. (did that make sense?)
And I think the weapon thing is just kind of... I mean, it'd be like asking where do his chakrams even COME from? I agree with loke13, he just threw them and blocked Malificent's fire attack- he himself did not use any fire based attacks.

Second, when are weapons "inherent" things? Besides the Keyblade, weapons in KH are just non-sentient objects that people decide to use.

Thirdly, Xigbar got scars from Terra, remember? Of course they wouldn't disappear after turning into a Nobody. They were burned into his face. Axel's tattoo things seems more of a stylistic thing to show that he was the same "character type" as Reno, who has eye tattoos as well.

The same reason why Roxas can use Sora's weapon? Axel and Lea are the same damn person. The only difference between Lea and Axel is that Lea's name was changed by Xemnas and he's missing a heart. It's not like his experiences are lost now that he possess a heart.

They're his weapons. When his Nobody and Somebody re-joined, he obtained Axel's powers, and became whole again. But this is a theory, as he didn't even use his fire powers. But those are still his weapons, it shouldn't matter how or if he uses them.

Basically Axel/Lea grew to the point that his frisbees became chakrams. Similar to what happened to Terra's Earthshaker keyblade becoming the Ends of the Earth keyblade.

So, if Lea acquired the chakrams during his time as Axel it should have just carried over. Same goes for if he acquired the chakrams when he was still Lea and then became Axel and reverted back to Lea.

Does this make sense?

So normal weapons can simply be conjured like Keyblades? If they're just simple weapons, why didn't characters like Xigbar use the same model? And also, aren't the different "models" only a game feature outside of canon, like Sora using the Peter Pan keyblade?

EDIT: Exavier answered most of my questions. That does make sense.

Also, I'm coming from the perspective that the weapons the Organization members use are tied to their Nobodies, since they are practically magical weapons in and of themselves (the cards weapon, for example, magically change shape and multiply at will). I'm coming from the assumption that the Organization 13's weapons aren't normal weapons.

It's been shown that 'normal' weapons can be conjured.

Keyblades like the Peter Pan keyblade are non-canon. It appears in-cutscene, but it reverts to the Kingdom Key when in CGI (canon).

Again, I believe it's to show growth/evolution. Honestly, I'd be pretty odd to picture young Lea wielding chakrams and Isa wielding a huge claymore.

As for Braig/Xigbar -- new, stronger weapon, but still the same weapon-type.

Agree, IMO we've already been shown this with Sora. His nobody was able to use Sora's keyblade and Ven's, the key here being Ven's, which Sora DID NOT have access to. As soon as he came back and rejoined to allow Sora to become whole again (who technically was a heartless) he had regained access to use Ven's keyblade again. Although Sora's rebirth was done through a procedure and not the "natural" way, it should still be the same outcome for all the others, except they probably WILL be able to remember their time as a Nobody, and probably a heartless too if they were strong enough.

As for the teardrop scars, they aren't really scars. They're more likely to be tattoos for this reason:
