Found a little description of the scene (lol I think it is anyway):

Riku, who watches the moon from atop Neverland's clocktower, which we visited in KH1 (gp's note: uh it's in London not Neverland but anyways), and Kairi, who has lost her light.
Riku, who stops by the clocktower after the cutscene in which Riku kidnaps Kairi from Captain Hook in Neverland.

The opening scene of KH1, when Sora and Donald and Goofy hit it off straight away.
Pluto went in another direction!!
They're finally revealing where Pluto went in this game!!

however i also have to ask if thats all that scene is since its exactly the same as the trailer. as for the pluto scene its also exactly the same as the trailer and i think it happens in either chapter 2 or 3 as well.

i would be really disappointed if thats all. well unless they explain its context and point it towards something relevant.

however i do hope it has to do with the clock tower to the extent that a lot of people complained that the trailer "lied".

hmmm good question. we know that the king was also there that night. if the king left before that scene than pluto could have just just followed him. either way he winds up meeting up with him eventually since at the end of KH we see him carrying a letter from the king (we never did find out what it said...)

I always thought the whole Pluto+letter-scene was a dream. I mean, at the start of Chain of Memories Sora, Donald and Goofy chase Donald and in the next scene Sora wakes up deep in the night looking at his friends still dreaming.

you know you may be right especially since the letter is never brought up again. all we know is he really did wind up on that grassy road where marluxia appeared. anything up to that point can be debatable.
