Nuts to that, I worked hard on rewriting this bio.
Name: Lucas Laglace
Gender: Male
Species: Artifically Modified Human
Age: 25
Lucas has a different understanding of age then humans do: His lifespan is dramatically longer, and he ages far slower. In technicality, he is many years older then he claims to be, but, in his words: "If a man looks 25, thinks 25, and feels 25, why then should he not be 25?"
Appearance: A young man, with pale skin and snow-white hair, cut in a short style with a long fringe and bangs. He's slim, yet with an athletic, though not quite muscular build, due to his agile combat style. He wears a ragged black hooded cloak, and is usually seen wearing military-inspired clothing beneath, always in black and white.
Power
Due to the modifications made to his body, Lucas has the power to manipulate Oxygen. His entire physical structure has been redesigned, allowing him to story air within his body, and make use of it in various ways.
Weapon:
A large, silver revolver hangs at his waist, a custom-built 45.70 calibre weapon, rechambered to fire specially designed rounds containing compressed air. Upon impact, they relase their contents, allowing Lucas to perform a follow-up attack. Physically their impact dosn't cause a great deal of damage aside from bruising. This weapon is a necessity in low-oxygen environments like high altitudes.
History
Lucas began life as a bioweapon, created and owned by the United Earth Defence Force, and specifically designed to counter the prevelant threat posed by a number of beings, both terrestrial and extra-terrestrial, with power beyond the limits of normal humans. He saw deployment in numerous hunts to destroy or capture these beings.
Initially, he resented his role as a mere weapon, powerless to resist the will of his masters, and persuing any number of means to try and free himself, even going so far as to try and antagonise some of his more powerful opponants into killing him.
As time passed, he began to despair that he may be, for all intents and purposes, immortal. Destined to live an indefinate life of servitude. It was then that met a man that would change his life: A target known as Drake Ignis. For weeks, Lucas hunted Drake, eventually tracking him down and engaging him in battle. The combat drew to a head, and though Lucas held the advantage, his abilities capable of nullifying some of Drake's, the burning passion and enthusiasim with which his opponant fought earned his respect and admiration.
Their fight drawing to a climax, Lucas unleashed his most powerful technique against Drake, but found himself unable to complete the attack, and collapsed, exhausted from their battle.
Unbeknownst to the warrior, his very DNA had become the basis for a mass-production enhancement to human soldiers, which would give them abilities similar to his own. Mere moments after he awoke, having been brought back from the brink of death by Drake, the two were attacked by a four-man team of super-soldiers based on Lucas himself, and led by the sadistic Cyrus, who was intent on both completing Lucas' mission by killing Drake, and defeating Lucas himself as a test of his team's abilities.
Exhausted from their battle, the two were forced into an alliance of conveniance, and managed to fend off Cyrus' team long enough to make their escape. They soon parted way, but would meet again on the battlefield many times thereafter, having developed a mutual respect.
Inspired by his newfound rival, Lucas began to exploit loopholes in his orders, staying in the field for weeks or months at a time under the pretense of 'Tracking' his enemies. In reality, he was performing the bare minimum whilst travelling the world, seeking someone who could remove the safeguards his creators had built into his mind.
He discovered, however, that the only one who could overcome these limitations was himself, and so he continued to wander, training his mind and body to resist the effects of his mental safeguards, and in his training, discovered that the easiest way to overcome it was to work both with and against it: By helping and protecting humans he hadn't been ordered to assist, he found both freedom, and purpose.
Years later, he re-emerges, having become a self-proclaimed defender of humankind, still performing the same role he once did, but by choice, rather then slavery.
Techniques
Ghostly Flicker
The Ghostly Flicker technique is a movement and travel ability that allows Lucas to travel small distances at high speed. He thins the oxygen in his path, creating a tunnel of less resistance along which he travels. The technique draws it's name from the ghostly afterimage that mimics his movements moments afterwards, caused by the sudden rush of oxygen into the vacuum left in his wake.
The technique can be used to travel a total of 30 metres. Lucas may change direction every 5 metres, at the cost of 5 metres travel distance. During travel, the light around his path is distorted, making him difficult to percieve.
Draw Breath
The Draw Breath technique is a support ability, during which Lucas absorbs oxygen from his environment at a constant rate. Using it allows him a greater ready supply of oxygen, and a righer content of it within his bloodstream. This has two main effects: the additional supply of oxygenated blood to his muscles allows him to perform better physically, and the on-hand supply lets him override the limits of his techniques by a small amount.
Increases Ghostly Flicker distance by 10 metres while active.
Allows use of a second Vortex while retaining use of low-cost oxygen techniques while active.
Increases Tornado Shout's distance and force.
Increases the force of Breaking Fist
Increases the size of Errupt's shockwave.
Errosion Vortex
Lucas is capable of creating a whirling vortex of oxygen around his limbs, rotating it at such speeds that it grinds anything it touches apart at the molecular level. The effect can be compared to having several hundred chainsaws strapped to his arm.
He can create a maximum of one Vortex during regular combat, or can create a second by sacrificing the use of his other oxygen-based moves until he dispels one or both Vortices.
Tornado Shout
Upon opening his mouth, Lucas can unleash a powerful spiral of wind, blowing enemies back and causing physical trauma. It has several angles of fire, which serve different purposes. A narrow Shout will concentrate a lot more force into a smaller point, causing serious damage on impact. A medium angle will cause the enemy to be forced back more effectivly without causing as much damage, and a large angle has the effect of trapping the enemy within the eye of the tornado.
The shout will continue so long as Lucas remains stationary with his mouth open. The distance varies betwen 25 to 50 metres, depending on the angle.
Breaking Fist
A Martial technique, the Breaking Fist is used by causing a rapid outward air expansion at the point of contact. When Lucas performs this, his punches can easily shatter brick, bend metal, or force the air from an enemy's lungs, winding them.
Errupt
A 'Cancel' technique, Lucas can use Errupt to stop an air-based move midway, expanding all the available air for the attack in a small shockwave.
The Eye
Lucas creates a dome of supercompressed air, trapping himself and his foes within. The dome can be escaped from, however, passing through the walls can cause serious physical damage.
This technique is necessary for Lucas to use before he may use either of it's two follow-up techniques, Choke and Crush.
Choke
Once within The Eye, Lucas drains the oxygen from within it, suffocating anyone trapped inside apart from himself. He drains it away at a slow but constant rate, over a matter of several minutes, but this process can be accellerated if necessary.
Crush
When an opponant must be destroyed at all costs, Lucas uses Crush once he and the enemy are within The Eye. This technique instantly expels all oxygen from The Eye, turning it into an absolute vacuum. Whilst Lucas maintains a small bubble of oxygen around himself, the opponant will experience the painful process of rapid decompression.
Grand Cross
Lucas' final attack, only usable when he is a great distance from the enemy. Lucas will charge directly at them, gathering large amounts of oxygen as he does so, before performing a palm strike, and releasing his gathered air all at once, from his palm, in the shape of a cross. The attack causes massive damage at the point where the arms meet, powerful enough to blow a hole through several layers of titanium plating. This technique is reknowned for neatly cutting the enemy into four pieces.
