Hi, I used to be here as Sonique and I was a mod for about a week or so before I went nuts and left =D Anyone remember me? Probably not...

I did a search, but Im not going to do a HUGE search on this, i just want a for sure yes or no answer

Is the Japanese version harder? I have someone who says it was a lot harder and different enemies in some areas and stuff... but I dunno, maybe it's because they're playing on standard mode now and were playing on Hard mode in Japan or something. Anyone know for sure or have differences listed?

No it is not. It is the same game. The Japanese version of Kingdom Hearts 2 is just it a different language and is only for the Japanese PS2. The North American version is just on the American playstation. Basicallly the same game just with translations and it is on a different region system.
So it should not be harder. It will take them to long to create a harder difficulty for proud mode. Remeber that Japanese had their Kingdom Hearts 2 early.

Yes, it's much harder. When they put proud mode in, they ment PROUD mode

where the hell have you been? under a rock?

tis the same game, same difficulty. nomura admitted he changed nothing but a few minor minor details (like the blood from the hydra's neck)

the I don't understand why a friend of mine who's played both versions is insisting that it's harder, maybe cause it was in Japanese or something.

Read it and enjoy.

Q. By the way, you seem to be working on the international version now; are you adding anything extra in that?
A. Nope, not much. We're making the North American version in 3 months so localizing(translating) it is pretty much the only thing we can do. After that there's the European version, so if I were to work on Final Mix, it'll have to be after that.

But I don't think he added any new stuff. If he did it was very minor.

I'm not talking about "new stuff" im saying a friend of mine has played both versions and insist the Japanese version is noticably more difficult.

Your friend probably thought it was more difficult because your friend did not understand the Japanese version and it seemed more difficult. The North American and Japan version of Kingdom Hearts 2 has the same difficulty.

No, it's the same. They don't change the game's difficulty. It would just be a rip off. People might say it's harder because it's in a different language. Not understanding what they're saying (unless you speak japanese) makes it harder, but they didn't change the game.

Exactly. It is not a harder game. You think that it is a harder game because you don't understand it.

^^ They are the frickin same! There is no difference other than language and 6 minor edits! If you don't know Japanese OF COURSE its harder! When setting abilities, you don't know what the hell you are doing. The "X" and "O" buttons are reversed, that takes some time to get used to. So PLEASE stop saying the difficulty is different. In terms of gameplay, the games are the same.

Off Topic: 666th post! Muwahahaha!
