This came out last year and was made with gamemaker studio. Someone on this forum told me not to use gamemaker (think it was victor) but after seeing this I think I will get it, while still learning programming.

The game I'm aspiring to make is metroidvania style like valdis story so I've been playing the demo and watching some castlevania walkthroughs to get some ideas. I've already got quite a few gameplay mechanics down that I think will make the game unique. I probably will use pixel art at first but when the game is completed I would like for the graphics to be similar to valdis story's.

I'm glad that there is an indie thread. Mighty Switch Force is one of my all time favorite indie games last year and it has a killer soundtrack too. I haven't tried out Mighty Switch Force 2 though. :tongue:

Trust me when I get a job I'll support the industry, I'm aspiring indie developer myself.

Plus the devs of Mimai Hotline actually said they made it easy to pirate, so they don't care.

I've really been enjoying Luftrausers. The art style is straight up my alley, and the gameplay is super addictive. Of all the retro-atari-esque games that have been coming out (nidhogg/samurai gun for example), this is by far my favorite.
