That'd be a bit difficult seeing as both characters have already been seen in scans and Ienzo is a bit too short to fill the role as well as young.

During that time he's too short, and working as an apprentice. There's also the fact that he's around later and doesn't seem to acknowledge the past like Xigbar.

The apprentices aren't necesarilly bad guys, especially since this is before Xehanort joined them. Vanitas himself can't even be considered to be that evil, since he was only following MX.

2.the scan showed ienzo from a bit of a distance, so he might be taller than you all think
3. Roxas is the only nobody with a keyblade because everyone else has no heart and are consumed by darkness

Although i don't agree with the theory, let's not forget that there are unconditional circumstances in which one can wield a keyblade. Like Riku to Kairi, MX may have just given Vanitas a keyblade instead of actually possessing one of his own....just stating the possibilities here
