How can Vanitas look like

When does this happen? Before Vanitas was created, or was he faceless until Ventus connected to Sora? Because then there's also the fact that both Ven and Sora looked the same, as pointed out by Aqua- was this coincidence, was Sora born of Ven's influence, or what?

its after vanitas is created, when MX takes ven to DI to die.
the scene where ven is talking to someone in his station is him talking to sora's new born heart, sora connects to ven to save him and this connection affects vanitas, kinda like how their connection latter affected roxas.

as for his face b4 hand it could either him being faceless (like xion at 1st) or (as i believe) he had ven's face.

okay thanks, im actually wondering something else then- Before BBS came out, we were told that its main point was that there were no Heartless or Nobodies, only these creatures called Unversed, and that by the end of the game we would understand how Heartless or Nobodies came to be. With Unbirths gone (Vanitas dying) are the creation of Heartless/Nobodies a whole separate thing that we'll discover in a game explaining Xehanort's time in Radient Gardens? and do we know if Xehanort has any connection to Saix, or is everything about young MX just similar to Isa by coincidence?

Actually, Aqua just noticed they're similar, not the same, she does the same as well regarding Terra and Riku.

As for the heartless, you have to differentiate between natural (pureblood) heartless, which exist till the begin of time (or something similar) and artifical (emblem) heartless, which where created by Xehanort's and Braig's experiments.
The Nobodies were also discovered later on, but all these facts are already covered in the Ansem Reports (KH I) and the Secret Ansem Reports (KH II).

Actually, that point of Saix and Xigbar having the same golden eyes and pointed ears as MX has been hinted by Nomura to have a deeper meaning, but it isn't further elaborated on as of now.

As for BBS, the main point of the game was not to show us how Heartless and Nobodies came to be, but rather how the young "Xehanort" we see in KH II came to be and to understand the origin of Xehanort.

Actually, Aqua just noticed they're similar, not the same, she does the same as well regarding Terra and Riku.

She doesn't say that Riku looks like Terra at all, she likens Riku's sincerity to that of Terra's. Sora was "the spitting image of Ven." Meaning, the two look very, very alike, borderline identical.
