Except, it's not. It's an in-game screenshot. If you look at the full-size version on Joystiq, you can see the pixels around the models. Looks like Jaffe wasn't exaggerating.

My gosh just go to Joystiq and look at the screenshots.

It doesn't matter whether it's cutscene or gameplay, it's most likely both, and regardless, the same engine that renders the gameplay is rendering cutscenes, because none of it is CG...it's all done with the in-game engine being built by Santa Monica.
