It's been a while since I ran an RP but I'm not unfamiliar to it. I've been cooking up a rough idea, but here it is and I hope it becomes popular.

In a punkish, anime-inspired, futuristic world where the word "realistic" has a skewered meaning, a story unfolds.

Welcome to the city of ArKanis.
A futuristic New York-esque city is a good description for it. There are bright lights, it's huge, and people barely sleep. This isn't the world you and me know though. For hundreds of years now, Demons, Witches, Humans, and Cyborgs have all co-existed together. Though this is the "future", technology is largely the same as it is in real life present day. No flying cars, no moving sidewalks, etc. New jobs have become available though. Just like human criminals, there are Demon criminals, evil witches, and outlaw Cyborgs who try to take advantage of the world. There are also good Demons, good witches, and good Cyborgs who either don't care or try to catch there evil counterparts. The city is very lively and active at all times of the day and night but people seem to get by just fine. This is where our story begins.

Recently there has been a surge of criminals rampaging through the city. Demons, witches, humans and Cyborgs alike. The rate of crime has increased dramatically over the course of just a few months and people are beginning to question the saftey of the city. The Cyborg and Human law enforcement agencies CDG(Cyborg Defense Group) and the APD(ArKanis Police Department) have begun to look into a few leads as to where this surge could have originated from. While the law enforcement agencies are following leads, bounty hunters and mercenaries are cashing in on the surge by catching these criminals for the reward money the CDG and APD have posted. Some people even speculate that the criminals themselves are working for different crime syndicates earning cash for their crimes. This is where your story starts.
While there is a central story to this RP, the beginning phase(called Phase 1) will be written by the RPers. The stories you create within this RP and the activity you have between RPers will all be connected to the central story. This is phase 1. In Phase 1, you may do whatever you please within the city. After your Temp is accepted, feel free to start RPing and interacting with other RPers, creating small stories. You could take on a crime syndicate with other RPers, or you could even becomen a criminal and start a crime syndicate with other RPers. When I feel that we enough RPers participating and you've had your fill of RPing as you please, I will introduce Phase 2, which will begin the main storyline we all shall follow.
Earlier I said something about the word "realistic" having a skewered meaning. Since this is anime-inspired, exaggerated and sometimes unrealistic acrobatics are allowed. Fighting must still make sense and follow normal logic however.
Current Storyline
A surge in crime has raised the fears of citizens across the city of ArKanis. It has also increased the amount of bounty hunters, mercenaries-for-hire, and law enforcement activity. Everybody has their own reasons for doing what they do. Some hunt each other for money not knowing that law enforcement is actually hunting them. Law enforcement has decided to take in any Demon or Witch they come across in an effort to lower the crime rate. CDG members are allowed to wrok with APD members to realize this goal if they wish. Cyborgs and Humans that aren't in law enforcement make their own choices. Demons and Witches do not generally like each other, but there are rare cases. On the outside, the bright lights and party nature of the ever awakened city mask the crime and chaos going on within the dark alleys and gritty streets. It's not complete chaos, but it's enough to keep everyone busy with their own agenda's.
This is Phase 1. Right now you have RP freedom and can basically do what you want within the city depending on the temp you've created and the occupation you've given yourself. Please interact with other RPers also as that's what holds an RP together. Fanfiction is nice but too much of it and this RP will die quickly. The RP thread is not yet created as I've just posted this, but when we get enough starting RPers, I'll create the thread.
Rules
-No god-modding.(We should all know what this means by now. No dodging every attack, no superbly over-powered characters, no one-hit kills, etc.)
-Do not kill another RPers character unless you have talked this over with them first. When Phase 2 begins and the main storyline starts, most likely everyone will be using the same characters.
-No Powerplaying(Don't control other people's characters. If you get into a fight with an RPer, leave your attack posts open-ended so they have a chance to react. For example "I shot a fireball and it burned him alive. I then watched his corpse slowly fall, in ashes, to the ground." That is the WRONG way to post an attack.)
-This is an M-Rated(Mature) RP. Yes, you can swear to the fullest. Yes, you can use sexual innuendo's. Yes it will be very violent, bloody, and/or gorey. If you have a problem with this, do not join. This is an RP with no restrictions because real life also has no restrictions. However, no X-Rated material. You can hint in a clean way that some characters had adult relations but don't graphically describe it. As far as relationships go, PG-13 is an acceptable level. Kissing, groping and things is fine, but X-Rated is too much.
-The invisible rule is in effect too, lol. (This rule covers any rules I could not think of at the time. More rules will be added if I can think of them cause I know I'm missing something lol).
-You are allowed a maximum of 2 characters.
-Though you are allowed to RP exaggerated and sometimes unrealistic acrobatics, fights between RPers must still follow normal battle logic and make sense.
-Literacy is a must. Basic grammar skills are needed to join this RP. It is hard to read your posts if it consists of one giant run on sentence.
-Your posts must be at least 4-5 lines long. One line posts are not only boring but they don't really contribute to the RP. It also makes it easier for someone to interact with a quality post.
-Please try and post once a week. I know everyone has lives(I got a job and I'm in college), but I did say try. If your gonna be out for extended periods, just come in here and let everybody know.
Races
Humans-The most basic of the races. Humans are just that. Humans. They live, need to eat, need to breathe and there is nothing special about them. Humans however, are able to carry the most weapons around with them, for the sake of balance. It is not uncommon for a human to be very adept at killing Demons, Witches, and Cyborgs. Humans also don't have any significant weaknesses like the other races.
Cyborgs-Cyborgs are Humans who have been augmented with some sort of technology and are known for their high strength levels and weapons proficiency. They are great for law enforcement because their eyes can scan, zoom in, and use X-Ray vision. Their strength is also enhanced because of the augmentation which also increases the amount of damage they can take. Each Cyborg also possesses a built in shield they can use whenever they are under attack. It is relatively weak, but is effective against projectiles and physical attacks from humans. Unfortunately, their weakness is their inability to handle supernatural attacks. Witches are a hated foe because of their ability to use supernatural(or magical whatever lol) attacks.
Witches-An all female race. Witches are known for their extreme reflexes, agility and flexibility. They also possess one supernatural ability each. Physically, Witches are as strong as demons. They can handle damage moderately but are more so known for gracefully dodging attacks than being beaten down. Their weakness is their inability to handle too much damage. If a witch is directly hit too much, it's better to retreat than to keep on fighting and die.
Though anybody can be good at hand-to-hand combat, Witches are especially known for their hand-to-hand combat skills. This doesn't mean they don't carry weapons though.
Demons-Demons possess a human appearance, thus it is not so easy to identify one. Demons are known for their durability. They also possess enhanced strength, speed, and agility. Their bodies are naturally stronger and tougher than the other races so they are known as the physically strongest. Demons however do not possess any supernatural abilities. Super strength, enhanced speed, high damage resistance, and enhanced agility are already enough for a Demon anyway. Demons also do not possess a "Demon Form" because they are already Demon; that IS their demon form. A Demon's weakness is melee weapons. Even though projectiles and guns will hurt them, melee weapons will achieve the damage an individual would want to inflict on a demon.
Half-Breeds do not exist in this RP. It's one of the four above. As you'll see in the temp though, you are not limited to just what these descriptions say though. I wrote those as a guideline so you the races each have their differences and thus, aren't RPed the same way.

-Physically, Givoanni is tall and slender, almost built like a supermodel. Ejecting this comparison though is the fact that Giovanni is also curvy, possessing slightly larger than proportional hips, and full chest. Despite this fact though, her body is built from exercise, definition on her arms, legs, and torso apparent. She varies in what clothes she wears, though she likes to be fashionable, even while fighting. Giovanni also has a gold tongue ring she always wears.

-A mystical armor which covers her forearms up to her hands, her knees down to her feet, her entire torso, and her mouth only save for a small apperatus on her back which resembles metallic wings. This armor enhances her physical strength and durability, putting her on an even playing field with demons and witches but only while wearing it. It can be adorned easily though, as the mettalic wing apperatus remains attatched to her upper middle back in the shape of a circle until she activates the armor. Oddly though, she's only ever activated the armor twice.

-Giovanni's custom, .50 caliber handgun. They are custom because the tips of each bullet spin like a Gyro after being shot, allowing her bullets to pierce metal and other hard materials. The gun has also been modified to shoot in a "rapid fire" mode if need be and the magazine has been largely extended(Though you can't tell in the picture).

Personality-Deliciously cruel and delightfully sadistic, Giovanni is borderline obsessed with death, gore, and pure destruction. Though she is also sensual like Madoka, Giovanni and the witch differ greatly in personality. Giovanni's personality could be described as mean-spirited or harsh with no formal reason. She doesn't care for the cosequences of her actions and does exactly what she pleases no matter who it may hurt. Though her words can sometimes sting, she is graceful and articulate in her speech. She also has a sense of humor, however twisted it can be. Fear is not an emotion shown by this woman, as battle and strong opponents merely excite her appetite for extreme bloodshed. It is this personality that fuels her status as a criminal of ArKanis.
History
-Giovanni is a human being who was born in ArKanis. As a child, she was often known to capture and torture small animals for fun. Though her parents stopped her and cast aside their negative thoughts, Giovanni's budding sadistic nature was further nurtured during her time in grade school with demons and witches. This was a time before the APD and CDG put out the word that all Demons and Witches would be arrested upon sight, so it was normal for them to go to school together. Giovanni usually hung around the more "demonic" demons and quickly adopted their cruel nature. She bullied other kids, was despised by teachers, and even scared her principal so much that he couldn't bring himself to expel her. It would only get worse as she got older.
Upon reaching the age of 16, Giovanni decided to leave and live on her own, making a living in the then lucrative business of bounty hunting. She always knew she had the courage to kill but never experianced the exhilirating feeling firsthand until her first job. She slaughtered her first target to such a degree that "mutilation" would be the nicest way to put it.
Eventually, Giovanni became somewhat famous for killing demons and witches though she was only a human with no special abilities. At age 21 though, she mysteriously disappeared. No one knows why but slowly, her name faded from the bright lights and minds of ArKanis. Now she has reappeared but the reason remains a mystery.......

Personality-Rei is a care-free, laid back sort of guy. Most things don't really get to him and his sarcastic and witty nature often make him the life of the social party. He takes life pretty easy, and being a Demon only gives him an extra excuse to do so. He's nice and friendly, and even finds time to joke around during battle. He generally stays calm most of the time and rarely becomes angry. He isn't cocky, but his attitude would sometimes make others think otherwise.
History-Rei was born in ArKanis a very long time ago. Because he is a demon though, nobody really knows his true age though he appears to be about 24. Being a demon, Rei has had his share of bad life experiences. He's been shunned by humans and laughed at by witches. Rei really only cared about his family until a certain day. On this day, Rei's family was brutally murdered by demons in the surge of crime that began to infect the city of ArKanis. Shocked beyond belief that his own kind would kill each other without remorse, Rei made it his life goal to kill as many demons as he could to avenge his family. He began to practice swordsmanship and train with guns. When he became older, Rei began to make a living as a bounty hunter. He primarily killed demons but he also accepted other jobs because he needed money to live a somewhat stable lifestyle. It was on one of his jobs that he met his now partner, Madoka.
Currently, Rei and Madoka are still working as bounty hunters. With the surge of crime in the city, there is hefty amounts of cash to be made by killing criminals, demon or otherwise. Rei operates from a small shop in the downtown district of the city with Madoka. It also doubles as his apartment though so he can cut on costs.

-Rei is a certified smoker. Being a demon, he doesn't get high or feel the effects of nicotine. He began smoking well before the death of his family as a way to relieve the stress of his young childhood.

Personality-Madoka is a very sexual female. She's seductive, sensual in her movements, behaves very vixen-like. She is also known for making many sexual innuendo's during coversation and even during battle. She's a nice person and very approachable. She is also laid-back and rarely gets angry. She can be a great friend, or a hostile enemy should you get on her bad side though.
History-Madoka was born a witch in the city of ArKanis. She was taught to hate all demons with a passion and never hesitate to kill them. Though her family taught her vaulable combat skills, they also sheltered her too much. As a child, Madoka was not allowed to go out with her friends and had a very unreasonable curfew. This has caused her to act the way she does now as an adult. She sees no problem in flaunting her sexuality and sensual ways even during battle.
Madoka met Rei during one of Rei's jobs. Rei was actually coming to kill her as the target witch and upon discovering he was a demon, Madoka was prepared to make him meet the same fate. At the time though, they happened to meet in a location that a local crime syndicate used as a base of operations. It was made up of Demons and Witches which caused the two to put their differences aside and fight together to avoid a premature death. Rei and Madoka realized during this time they worked well together and could make lots of money if they didn't kill each other.
Madoka presently works with Rei as a bounty hunter, killing criminals for cash. Madoka has stated that the reason she has no problems killing witches is because she just imagines them as her mother and can kill them easily for restricting her so much during her entire childhood.

History:
Jezzi was born in New York and has been there since birth, growing acustomed to the always-awake life. Jezz never knew her real parents, but she believes that one of them is somebody that she's hunting and that is why she hastes a part of her job. But aside from that, she loves the job of bounty hunting. She was adopted by a jewish family and se shortly ran away, escaping a life that she didn't even really sink into.

When she kills a person, she watches them die, enjoying the look and stench of death.
She is merciless, even in her human form. Her favorite people to torture and kill are kids. Sickening, but In Onira's mind, it's a pleasure. When her temper flares, you better watch out. The katana comes out and somebody might die if you're around her.
History:
Some people may not like the idea of being an idea, but to Onira, it's heaven, despite the fact that she's a Hell creature. She killed her own parents and her younger brother, then left to go up to ArKanis, a party city. Just right for Onira. She came up, at first murdering random hobos and whores, than moving towards kids, teens, then finally, adults and families. She became a known criminal around the city, but was never caught. For years, she hid in alleys, away from the sunlight, where she could be spotted.

History- Necro was once the youngest king ever to be of his warrior clan, the Purity clan. To be chosen as king you had to be the best fighter, in which a tournament would be held and the winner would finally challenge the current king in a fight for leadership, in which at age 16 he became ruler. He believed in strong leadership, and will for the better of his people.
His clan was one of the strongest if not thee strongest clan there was.He would go to wars to conquer others for power, as well as securing the well being of his clan. Several years had gone by and he was at the brink of ruling the world.
But suddenly a witch who was kept in prisoned for misdeeds had put a curse on him, in which teleported him into the future while on an long hibernated slumber in which several years had gone by.

Laser Scythe;
A long black staff like object that emits an energy blade, the laser scythe is Wotan's primary weapon. It can shrink into a small cylinder for convenience, and easy storage. Also; if projectiles are needed, the laser scythe can sends out waves of energy towards a target. Either many small waves, or one large wave.
Jet Sets;
Even though they are used for mostly travel up to ninety miles an hour, the Jet Sets can also send out an energy wave much like the laser scythe. When needed as a weapon, Wotan would have to use moves that would involve kicks and axis spins.

Wotan is an official CDG secret investigative agent, who's mission is to locate the primary cause for the recent crimes that haven been committed. Though to gain information, he acts as a Bounty Hunter in disguise.

Wotan can be described as a loner who valors pride, he is; serious, collective, and willing. Though he is the exact opposite when undercover. When in disguise, he acts as though he is a failed funk/techno artist who will do any job for is addiction money. Even though he actually hates his false persona, he is still attracted to the idea.
He is also into Jazz and Classical music, and his hobbies involve him writing sonatas; or making fine cuisines. All in all, he is a good natured cyborg who just wants to do right in a troublesome world of criminals and near-do-wells.
History:
Wotan was born as Gabriel Boimoux. Being born into a poor family; Wotan was often abused by his older brother & parents. Which had caused him to run away from his old apartment in the city, and into a sub-urban orphanage at the age of ten. Where he was often moved into different foster families, he never heard of his parents again.
Unfortunately for him, the abuse caused him so much stress that he would often have a random meltdown. Or instead go blind for a short amount of time. His illness had become so bad that his brain tissue had turned swollen, causing it to rub against the skull. His current foster family only had a few options, he could die; or become cybernetic. His foster parents had decided to give him a cybernetic head & spine. A costly procedure, though the foster parents could still afford it. He ended up having a TV like head. But his new operation gave him the functionality of having a great intellect, and having higher physical potential.
Gabriel ended up going to a high ranked university, and receiving high honors in all of his classes. So high that the FBI enlisted him in government training. He ended up being a secret operative for over two years before he was then moved to the CDG. While in the training program, Gabriel was told that he would be given a new name. And a new background; in-which he would act as a new identity for a mission. A mission that would involve infiltrating the crime lords of the city.....

Personality: There is really only one way to describe this man, and that is the fact that he's crazy. To him, life is just something put there to be taken away and he is always the first to jump at the chance. The sole purpose for this man in life is to steal that of others so he turned it into his job. There is really only one thing that this man loves more than killing, and that is sex itself. Sadly for this man, sex has been a little thin lately due to people knowing about his reputation of killing anyone that manages to piss him off, a very easy task to accomplish. He is always one to reach for his sword before negotiating and thus he has accumulated quite the bounty on his own head. If one was to ask this man if he killed for the money or for the sake of killing, he would either kill the person for being an idiot or tell them that he kills to kill and the money is just to bribe cops and to impress women.
History: Vito was born into a family of demons on the outskirts of the central part of ArKanis surrounded by humans. The family managed to live in peace with the humans only due to their appearances. This peace was shattered though on a day that a lone Witch decided to use the area for target practice with a new and powerful spell. The destruction was not stopped even by local authorities so Vito's parents were forced the uncover the veil that hid what they were. Though the humans were grateful to be saved by the two, they still forced the family out of their house and onto the streets. For years the family lived behind dumpsters trying to feed themselves and their ten year old son until another person meaning harm appeared before them. This time it was a demon that had managed to take the witch as his lover and sought only revenge against the ones that killed her.
The scene forever changed the way that Vito looked at life and other people because he was forced to watch as his parents were ripped apart by the crazed man. The man finally decided to take the life of the child as well to prevent any future death of his but forgot that he dropped his sword in the fight. Vito quickly recovered the sword for himself and used the chance to strike the man down with a simple thrust. With the feel of metal slicing through flesh, bone and organs Vito felt a new form of joy. At first he thought it was the joy of killing a man with his own hands for revenge, but that was replaced the instant that he started to rip the man apart himself. He knew then that he was designed to kill anyone that gets in his way and was even about to kill a passing cop but was stopped when he learned about the concept of a bounty. That was the final push that was needed for Vito to take up the career of killing criminals.
It wasn't until the man was twenty years old that he discovered that many organizations pay better for killing those that are not criminals but with an added risk. Despite the risk of being hunted himself Vito took the first job that he could from a curious client and set out to kill who he was ordered to. Upon his locating the correct house, Vito learned that it was the home for a member of the local police and his family of humans. Despite this new discovery Vito killed the man and even his wife as they were waiting for their daughter to return from school. Upon the return of the girl, Vito was stricken with her beauty for a high school student and felt a primal urge rise within him stronger than every. He allowed the urge to control him so that he may rape the girl and then kill her, all next to the bodies of her parents. It was from then that he knew the two joys in his life and decided to use both to live to the fullest.

A specialized rapid-fire gun designed for a cyborg to use. On the grip of this massive weapon is a port that enable the user to connect to the ammunition itself to enable the nanobots to perform one set task per round. At the current moment Abel is only able to program the bullets to either explode upon contact as if it were an explosive round, act as a tracking beacon though easily jammed upon discovery or slowly break down the cellular structure of the victim.

A massive sword as long as Abel is tall. Should a human attempt to move this blade he or she would not get very far. Abel is capable of wielding this sword as if it were made of aluminum and built the same as a longsword do to his enhanced strength.

Personality: For the most part at work, Abel is quiet and does not talk to those around him. The reason for this is the fact that he despises all cyborgs and even himself. He does not mind witches, demons or humans as much for various reasons but it is cyborgs that he hates with a passion. Outside of work he is often noted to be kind and helpful to those around him as long as they do not show any mechanical augmentations. If he likes a person he will often invite them out for a drink if they are old enough to do so or even to tag along on one of his bounty hunting jobs that he completes on the sides just to maintain his own body from battles.
History: Abel was born into a family that was considered "upper class" due to his father being a human senator and his mother being a famous actor. They raised the boy to always stand up for those that are weaker than he which eventually led to him becoming a cop while he was still human. It was mostly the influence of his father that got him into an advanced academy but it was his own skills that got him to graduate at the top of his class at the age of twenty. It was shortly after the graduation ceremony that he met a woman of stunning beauty who was there to watch her younger brother graduate. At that time Abel did not know that the woman was a witch and he found that he would not care even after the two started dating, granted her brother didn't want the two together.
Despite the hardships imposed upon the two by the brother of the woman the two quickly decided to get married even if the fellow police officer did not approve. This proved to be fatal three years later due to the sudden appearance of a cyborg mercenary hired by the brother to kill the man as they were heading home after adopting a demon son. Try as he might, Abel was forced to watch as he family was burned alive in the car while he himself was left bleeding on the street. The cybord started to move in for the kill but was stopped at the sudden appearance of the police. At the wail of the sirens Abel passed out and say the man running away behind a building. The police instantly recognized the officer near death next to the car that had his family and moved quickly to save the only person that they could. To do this they were forced to completely rebuild his entire body and turn him into a cyborg himself.
At first he did not have the option to don an artificial skin that healed on its own and even bled when injured. Because of this face he was transfered to the CDG where he was supposed to feel more relaxed. This was not the case because every cyborg that he met reminded him of the one that killed his wife and new son. Eventually this led to him hating all cyborgs despite plenty of them being nice people that only wanted to help him. Eventually he out-lived his family and even the brother that tried to have him killed.

Personality: When someone sees Maria, they would think she's a sweet girl. They would think she's innocent and cute, friendly and fun.
Well she is, except she has dual personalities. The moment she picks up her weapons, she turns sadistic. This does not mean she doesn't care about others. It is only the person who she's searching for (i.e. her 'enemy') who becomes victim of her sadistic nature. And she expresses it with smiles and laughs.
However, she could return to her usual personality when she's greatly injured or affected by her emotions. Still, just because she returns to her usual sweet personality, it doesn't mean her skills in using her weapons are affected.
History: Maria's father left the family when she was only 6 years old, and her depressed mother would at times be abusive towards Maria. However Maria tried to be supportive and she kept a smile on her face. Sometimes her mother would be kind and gentle, other times she would be abusive again. The days when her mother was kind were the days she looked forward to, and thinking about it kept her smiling face.
But one day Maria's mother sent her away to an orphanage. That was when Maria found out the truth about her identity; she was never her biological child, and Maria's mother harshly kicked her into the run down orphanage.
Life in the orphanage was horrible, but in that one year that she lived in the orphanage, she found changes in herself. Sometimes when she picked up any object, she would feel the urge to hurt someone with it. She held in her urges, until one day when she was beaten up terribly by the head of the orphanage, she held a scissors in her hand and stabbed him. She was then kicked out of th orphanage.
Life for her was harsh after that as well, but better than before. She learned to use guns and knives. She learned of taking jobs to hunt down criminals and getting rewards. She was content with her life now, but her only problem was that she wanted to stop her sadistic self.

They are long blades, with a glint of red within the blade’s handle. The swords hold a ancient masking that allow them to be near unbreakable, except by the one to take the heart of the wielder.
Supernatural Ability: Healing, it is both a curse and gift that she holds the perfection of the piecing of physical wounds back together once unwound. Although, the gift of healing, in her case can be reversed, although at a sever cost. For example, is she was to re open a wound of another one would reappear upon her. THe effects although are only physical and like all physical wounds heal over time.

Personality: She has a difficult personality, to some up with a few paragraphs as with each person she interacts with she acts different. She finds it near impossible to trust another being as she has been hurt many times before.
She cares deeply for animals, and has a falcon that sits upon her shoulder where ever she goes.
Slightly cold, but once you open up to her she is seemingly fun to talk to and knows the ins and outs of the city to an art.
She is cynical and jokes about death and hatred a lot, many people can find her off putting.
Rayler is one of the best healers/surgeons in the city but she charges an immense price, she is biased and judgmental. But she has no racist tendencies, she judges people on how they react to her queer nature
History: Rayler was born into a well off family of witches; her mother was one of the most infamous in her city. Her father’s excessive complacency saw him the end of many failed incantations. When he died, her mother slowly became insane and for her own safety Rayler was sent to The Recede Coven, of the lower city.
It was here, Ray, potential of the body parts were recognised and through exstensive training she learnt the techniques needed for potions to incartaions.
Rayler sought further training as during her study she came across, forms of “negative healing” Through her curiousity she learnt and mastered the arts of re forming wounds and alike.
She is both hated and loved within the city, everyone knows her power and many come to seek it
