Sure, it wasn't made clear whether or not Kairi..."kept" the keyblade.
(for lack of a better way to describe it)
But assuming that she fought with it, I think I'm pretty sure its safe to assume so.
(though I know I can forget stuff like this)

Also, when she received the keyblade, she was very passionate about wanting to help her friends.
So, assuming that a keyblade can choose its master, I would think it's safe to presume that it would stay with her. (?)

No. As of right now, Kairi cannot wield a keyblade.

Riku was dual-wielding, splitting his keyblade, The Way to Dawn, into two, and giving her the other half of it- which was essentially Soul Eater dressed up in a keychain of Riku's that representend his memories of Destiny Islands.

Kairi is not able to wield- she's never been able to wield. This might change in the future, but that's not the point now.

Basically, Riku was letting her borrow his keyblade and it went back to him when she was done attempting to use it.

Yeah, you are contradicting yourself.

Bottom line, she can wield a Keyblade, but she's not a chosen wielder. As of now anyway.

I define wield as it's literal term. Meaning being able to use it. It may not be to it's fullest extent or doing it well, but technically by defination she does weild it.

She can hold it, but she cannot summon it.
Making her the equivalent of Jack Sparrow without the rugged good-looks.

Bitches cant summon keyblades.
HENCE, Kairi can't.

only cool/pure hearted peeps can, Xion and Aqua.

Kairi just likes drama, like most women(no offence to the female gender[just the truth{just like most men watch porn}])
ANYWAY, shes just there to make people angry. (to add emotion????????????)

Technically speaking, Kairi has a purer heart than Aqua does...

Who's to say Kairi won't be a wielder in later games? I mean we all saw here use the keyblade at the end of KHII to fight the heartless. That's fact. We can't dispute that. Now in the first KH, the keyblade was intended for Riku even though Sora got it. Sora played through the whole game with the keyblade then at hollow bastion it went back to Riku, him being the rightful master. Then in a stunning turn of events Sora took the keyblade back from Riku. So who's to say something like that won't happen with Kairi-She uses the keyblade, it goes back to Riku, and she takes it back from him?

Nomura (creator of Kingdom Hearts) said it in an interview. Anyone can hold the Keyblade like Kairi did, but only the master can summon the weapon can at will. Plus if Kairi could summon the Keyblade, why didn't she do it when Xemnas came? The reason the keyblade went to Riku in KH1 was becasue Riku's heart was stronger then his for that moment.

Nomura said it in an interview? Oh ok then that's pretty cut and dry.

Actually, Nomura "just" said that what Riku gave to Kairi was the Soul Eater - meaning, the WtD. Seeing how Riku was using the WtD at the time, the conclusion is he was Duel Wielding.
Thus far whenever someone not supposed to hold the Keyblade so much as touched it for too long (Leon, Jack Sparrow) it ran off screaming, which is why it's not unlogical to assume that Kairi being a PoH did have something to do with her being able to hold it.
That is not to say though that it's her own, only that being a Poh - with proven relations to the Keyblade - will not be rejected by it as would be people of unqualified Hearts. this would be where I differentiate being chosen by the Keyblade (Sora, Riku, Mickey) and not being rejected by it (Kairi) which is obviously not the same -
Again, assuming her PoHness had to do with it and it wasn't enough for Riku to say "here, take it".

NOOOOO!!!! She Can't!!! She can hold it and swing it at heartless. But if Riku wanted it back it would comeback to him. Like it did when Sora gave the Keyblade to Jack Sparrow.

Only, again, one cannot rule out the possibility that part of the reason why the Keyblade didn't run away from her on instinct, like it did from Leon (Sora didn't willingly call it back) is that she's a PoH. Those were proved to have a relation to the Keyblade, so until we see people giving Keyblades to people that are not either Wielders (Riku -> Sora, Roxas -> Riku) or PoHs (Riku -> Kairi) we can't rule out that that is why Kairi was able to hold it.
It would no doubt come running back the instant Riku whistled, thus leaving Kairi defenseless. But until then, we have to consider her being a PoH part of why it stayed that long.

Wasn't it also stated by Nomura that there were more people qualified to wield than there were actual keyblades? Or maybe it was something like, anyone with a strong enough heart could potentially wield the keyblade. Kairi could probably use the keyblade even if she were not a PoH, though that doesn't hurt. Her heart is qualified and there was an available keyblade, and the fact that she did use it was significant. It's called "foreshadowing", unless of course the whole story concept has been revamped and they toss out the signature weapon like Mardi Gras beads.

No, he said there were as many Keyblades as there are people who are qualified to wield them.
