Are you telling me Axel is not Riku's nobody
Heh, I'd like to see the evidence for that theory. I wonder if it would beat the "Kairi isn't a PoH" theory in terms of silliness.
Next things you'll guys will tell me is Kairi and Ven weren't becoming BFF when their hearts were inside Sora.

Kinda problematic when one of these hearts is the equivalent of an unconscious coma patient at the time of KH 1, but there are some hilarious what-if-comics about what may take place in Sora's heart after KH2 in which Xion herself admits that the writing is shitty and Ven acts like a damn little shit:
Kinda problematic when one of these hearts is the equivalent of an unconscious coma patient at the time of KH 1,
1. Developing Kairi: A dreamscape would've been the perfect place for Kairi to train with her keyblade, alongside Sora and Riku who would supposedly be able to protect her. It's way past time for her to have a character arc that doesn't make her the damsel in distress. Also, her personality would've fit with the cutesy dream eaters much better than just Sora's and Riku's. Plus, having her as a playable character in a way similar to Birth By Sleep would've fixed the pacing issues and problems with the Drop system. My best explanation for Kari being used as only a surprise at the end of 3D is that Nomura obviously has plans for her in KH3, possibly starting the game with her training. Still, she would've fit perfectly in 3D.
Well at that point his heart was awakened. It wasn't before KH2.And in KH3D, Ven's heart was able to do something to to protect Sora
Agreed that Kairi definitely should have had a significant role in the game. Her KH2 character arc was about her not wanting to stay behind, and when Sora and Riku are called to leave the island...she just stays behind. Honestly, the way her character has been treated throughout the whole series is depressing and inconsistent. Nomura could have at least had her go with Sora and Riku to the Tower. :/1. I agree that they definitely could have done more with the whole dream concept. The way the sleeping worlds were depicted in-game was a bit...lacking. And confusing, especially in regards to how exactly the Mysterious Tower and Disney Castle being sleeping worlds is even possible.2. PSYCHOLOGICAL THEMES: Come on Nomura, if you're going to pull the "dream within a dream" card and have Riku inside Sora's heart the entire time, why wouldn't you use it develop Sora's (or Riku or Kairi's) character? What does he fear? Does he have any secrets? Is there a reason that he is the way he is? How is he affected by the hearts inside his? Any sort of psychoanalysis would've been better than making Sora a precious dumb baby of pure light like the story did.
Yeah, I'm definitely sick of the clones too. :/3. Something, Anything new and not cliche: Even before KH3D, I joked about how, in the KH series, if you're a good guy you end up inside Sora, and if you're a bad guy, you're actually Xehanort. Now Normura is just beating those plot points to death by re-establishing that at least 3 people are inside Sora's heart, putting Data Diz in there as well, and bringing in 13 XEHANORTS.
This. Some of the ideas are really good, but the execution…blegh.Wasted potential? Everything about Birth by Sleep screams wasted potential. I'd argue Kingdom Hearts 2 had a lot of wasted potential as well.
Those entries warned us of what to expect from Nomura's shoddy planning.
Right? There’s so much they could have done. I think it was said in an interview somewhere that Nomura originally was going to show younger versions of Squall and the Radiant Garden cast but took them out to give more screentime to the apprentices/Lea/Isa. Which would have been ok…if they actually did anything substantial. Aside from Braig, II-VIII were glorified cameos at best (Lea and Isa especially).Seriously. The only entry that has more wasted potential than BbS is Days. I mean, you hear they're making a prequel set 10 years before KH1, what are the things you'd want or expect to see from that time?
I was really surprised this didn’t happen, tbh.what Keyblade wielder Triton met in Atlantica,
One of the main reasons the overarching story suffers so much, imo.Nomura actually has an error in his priorities when he cares more about making the story "surprising" rather than making it coherent.
That’s probably what happened, unfortunately. Was it ever said why it was switched to the PSP?BBS was originally planned for the PS2 and according to Nomura an inofficial "KH 0", so I would not be surprised if the overall story of BBS as a whole got truncated in the process of bringing it over to the handheld console.
Exactly. It had plenty of flaws, but it wasn’t anywhere close to the level of convolution of later installments. The story was told in a sloppy manner, but it was still fairly simple and straightforward.Hell you could even KH2 "okay". It was also straightforward.
That’s something that really bugs me about the series. The new games add new revelations/explanations that drastically alter our understanding of characters/motivations/plot points/etc. from previous games, even when previous explanations were given, serving to make things more needlessly complicated..You now literally need at least four games (kh1, com, days, bbs) to understand kh2 and the series itself as a whole when that wasn't an issue prior. The original set up of KH1>CoM>KH2 was a straightforward tale that explained itself for the most part (kh1 & com more so than kh2). You didn't need wikis, YouTube, interviews or handheld entries to grasp them initially.
I actually think fan hatred of Atlantica's swimming controls is more to blame for why it was excluded. Probably the same reason you can't really fly in Neverland now either, just float. It's one of those moments where I have to try not to resent the KH fandom for ruining nice things..... Having Ursula manipulate Terra to cause problems in Atlantica would go with his arc and explain Triton's hatred of keyblade masters simutaneously. Plus, seeing Terra as a merman, *drools over keyboard* And Aqua with shells. lolI was really surprised this didn’t happen, tbh.
And in KH3D, Ven's heart was able to do something to to protect Sora
The armor took on the darkness which protected Sora from the brunt of the attack. It wasn't pointless. It also wasn't really a sacrifice?Sadly, it was in vain---the Armor just got corrupted along with Sora.
What is it with Nomura and pointless sacrifices these days?

Oh man that comic. I am laughing so hard that my stomach hurts. I am sad that the series writing is a bit wonky sometimes, but well. I am still hear and more excited about the future than I have ever been.
I've seen the headcanon that Kairi might have heard something like Ven's breathing while she was in Sora. After all, she seemed pretty aware of outside events while her heart was in there. And in KH3D, Ven's heart was able to do something to to protect Sora, although Kairi being in Sora was very different from the situations that put Ven, Roxas, and Xion in Sora, so maybe the hearts were too separate to notice each other.
Well at that point his heart was awakened. It wasn't before KH2.
And I don't know, the part at the end of KH3D with all of the young people in "Destiny Islands" could lead some credence to the headcanon that they can interact with each other. Not that I think the series would ever actually do anything with that explicitly lol.

Sora never got corrupted. The reason why the armor attacked Riku was because it was being manipulated by the darkness, with an unconscious Sora inside. Had it not shown up, there's a chance that he wouldn't have been able to be saved.
The problem with this is that, frankly, a lot of the things in the interim between BbS and KH1 are lore events. Not just because they haven't been covered on-screen, but because it'd be difficult to do so.Yes, but the makers/Nomura didn't have a requirement that the game had to be set exactly at 10 years with no movement. They could've had you see three different points of view at three different time periods, going on the scenario idea. Point being, all those things you'd even be interested in from a prequel weren't there. /end
