I felt this was interesting question because KH has dabble into both even during final boss sequences. I think my preference is humanoid bosses because it feels a bit more realistic in a very unrealistic world. Maybe Days scarred me on giant monster type battles but they don't feel as engage as fighting something human shape.

So I might be a bit perturb if during the final fight Xehanort turns into some darkside/Guardian hybrid giant that Sora needs to slay.

most monster bosses require some kind of gimmick to be engaging, which usually falls flat if not executed right (ie. reaction commands), whereas human battles require what you've grown accustomed to, as well as skill.

kh3 monster fights could be pretty dope if you parkoured up them like rock titan.

I've started to notice that out of all the bosses in KH, the human-sized ones tended to kick my ass the most. If I wanted a really tough but fair bossfight, I'd usually go with human-sized. I'd rather not have something like the Gutship from KH1 again, where it throws in some gimmick mechanics for you to deal with at the last second.

Given the org 13 members and possible Disney villains (many of whom can transform), id say there will be an equal ratio between humanoid and monster bosses

These perfectly indicate why KH3 is playing it safe to dive into more humanoid bosses, but based off of every game in the series as well as the teasers we've already seen, we're getting a healthy mix of both. I agree completely with Darknado, as the human boss fights are some of the best moments throughout the series, i.e. Riku in KH1, Roxas in KH2 FM, the final bosses in BBS, etc. As an extension of what Osprey said, I'm personally glad the series has moved away from KH1's style of bigger battles, but I don't think KH2 nails them either. Those bigger battles and end bosses in KH1 really hurt the overall experience of the game for me, yet they've gotten ever closer to a great product since then, especially in BBS and DDD.

KH3 has the potential, based on its history, has the potential to deliver a set of some of the best bosses in the JRPG scene if done well. The narrative potential of providing intimate, one on one fights against humanoid opponents and the larger than life, cinematic boss battles against enormous monsters is definitely there. A healthy balance is important, and is vital in differentiating the tense, skill-based moments from the awe-filled enormous ones.

Pizza, why was that an option? Oh, what's the point in asking a question like that anymore? xD

Because there's lots of variety? I don't know, I just made that up in my head to justify why it was on the poll. Anyway, like others humanoids are probably my favorite bosses to fight in the series. Something like Genie Jafar both times just didn't do it for me. From a storytelling perspective I think there's more of a personal connection with humanoid villains than giant monsters, your typical monster of the week thing. But yeah, I choose pizza.

To be honest, I finally wanna see a boss again that intimidates me at least closely as much as the Darkside did back in KH1. So...giant bosses pls.

I personally prefer humanoid bosses, but I think a good mixture is needed. Humanoid bosses usually are for story bosses and monsters are usually for Disney world stories.

You know, when you put a third option that has nothing to do with the topic, people will pick it... because it is the internet.

What do ya mean it has nothing to do with the topic? I seriously want the next enemy to be food-themed!
