So while I was checking out a college to go to over the weekend, I actually got to sit in on one of the classes (since there was nothing else to do) and it just so happened to be a tech class discussing the future advancements and where the world is going in that aspect. One of the main topics was a virtual reality. From the 15 minutes I sat in the class it seemed to me like the world isn't too far off the mark in gaining some ground in said industry. The class also had this infograph as a handout. While some of the goals on the chart seem inaccurate, this is only based on speculation:

I like to think realistically and say we're decades off from a 'true vr' but hey it's a nice thing to think about.
