These are ordered from most to least likely to get me murdered in my sleep

The Lion King is super overrated. It’s a good movie, but nowhere near the standard of which people seem to hold it to. I feel like the laws of its universe is a bit flawed. Why are all the animals below the lions worshipping them, perfectly content with the fact that they will probably be hunted down and killed by them someday? Why do Timon and Pumbaa have anything to do with the lions when they’ve probably eaten plenty of meerkats and warthogs in their lifetimes? Why are the hyenas treated like absolute shit for trying to live like any other animal?

“Make a Man Out of You” from Mulan is a great song, but it’s not one I’d go out of my way to listen to independently from the movie. My go-to will always be the Lea Salonga version of “Reflection”.

The Pocahontas sequel is actually all right, and I like John Rolfe way more than John Smith.

I prefer Jungle Book 2 over the original. Dunno why. I just do.

I like the gargoyles from Hunchback of Notre Dame. Granted they don’t fit very well with the movie they’re in, but I like them as characters in their own right.

I've never been a huge fan of The Little Mermaid. I don't actually hate it (I'm growing to appreciate it a bit more over time) and I don't think it's a bad film at all, I just never clicked with Ariel and always lost interest when she turned into a human and hung out with the regular people in the regular town. The under the sea world was a much more interesting visual backdrop to be engrossed in (plus mermays).

On a similar note, Mulan had that same problem for me. Mulan was a more interesting character with a more dramatic goal in life than Ariel and higher stakes, but once she arrived at the camp to train to be a soilder I also always lost interest for the same reason as TLM; boring setting visually and an arc I couldn't connect with as a little kid (physical training). Child me was super picky about where stories took place I guess.

I was never a huge fan of Aladdin that much, not sure why. Maybe I didn't like it's animated movement style? It was too fast paced as a film for me too. Also I've never liked Jasmine, her overly breathy voice has always irritated me lol.

My favorite Disney movie as a little kid was Sleeping Beauty. Most people thought it was boring and slow but I always loved it's visual tapestry style and soundtrack, and I loved the Three Fairies and Maleficent who really were the main characters of the film more than Aurora.

My favorite dtv sequel growing up was Lady and the Tramp 2. I recognize the story is kinda eh, but I adored the songs and found it fun to watch. Which is more than I felt about the first, which I thought was boring. I haven't see either in years so I don't know if my opinions would hold.

The Genie in Aladdin is... not as funny as people say he is. I was never wild about him despite really liking the movie. Maybe it's just because I only watched it dubbed and didn't get to witness the original voice acting, but the brazilian voice acting is generally solid.

TV show-wise, I'm not big on Gravity Falls. It's weird because I really like Amphibia and Owl House, which are both shows that have showrunners who worked on GF and have a somewhat similar tone, but GF wasn't for me. I think Now What He Seems was an amazing episode, but it's literally the only episode of the show that left an impression on me. I watched the entire show just to get to this episode and I think it was worth it, but it's not a show I'm ever going to rewatch.

Also Phineas and Ferb Star Wars is the greatest hour of Star Wars ever made. I'm a sw fan but I stand by that opinion.

Lion King 2: Simba‘s Pride is actually a really good movie and I liked Kovu and Kiara story, It’s definitely one of the better Disney sequels.

That’s a pretty common opinion in my experience, and one I fully agree with.

There are several DTV sequels I don't mind despite their flaws: the Aladdin and Lion King sequels, Stitch Has a Glitch, Bambi and the Great Prince, Pocahontas II: Journey to a New World, Mulan II, A Tigger Movie and Pooh's Grand Adventure. Of course I wouldn't consider anything past the first films canon unless the second films were made by WDAS / the original talent, but I can still enjoy those ones. I want to like Scamp's Adventure since a sequel to L&tT with Scamp was an idea that existed long before the DTV sequels, but that movie is just...really bad.

Cinderella: Twist in Time is fun even if I wouldn't go so far as to say I like it. Return to Neverland overall is pretty bad, but Jane is an interesting character for a Disney film (and I love "I'll Try").

John Carter while not perfect was still a pretty fun movie. And I hate that we'll never get that planned trilogy due to it bombing

I don't mind Toy Story 4 existing. That movie gets so much unwarranted hate. Mind you, I don't love it but I feel like many people overreacted towards that movie.

My favorite dtv sequel was The Little Mermaid 2. I actually liked Melody more than Ariel, and she had a goal I could relate to and understand(who wouldn't want to be a mermaid if you knew they existed? Though child me didn't know how terrifying ocean life is lol).

TV-Wise, Does Once Upon a Time count as a Disney movie? If so then, ima put in spoilers in case there are some peeps who like it and aren't far in the show.

I'm never gonna understand why everyone has such a vendetta towards the Season 7 ending, because I spoiled myself and...I love it. I honestly love it. Now don't get me wrong, season 6 is good as well, but Season 7's ending doesn't deserve the hate it's been so massively getting. Season 6 is more of a conclusion to Emma's story, while Season 7 is a conclusion to Henry's story, and it seems fitting because he's the author of the story. And on top of this, Regina gets the happy ending she deserves. It's...heartwarming, and a fitting conclusion to Once Upon a Time.

AIGHT That's out of my chest. Next up, movie-wise. The Disney sequels seem to be all around acclaimed to be the worst creations, but as everyone so far's been saying, some of them aren't really that bad. Return of Jafar isn't as bad as everyone thinks. I personally like how we got Iago's redemption. And also Castanella gets so much hate for wait for it, WAIT FOR IT, Not being Robin Williams. And it's so...outlandish. I liked his performance in RoJ and KH. Like...give the man some credit.

I’m glad that it’s turns out Lion King 2 is generally considered a good film.

When It comes to Disney sequels I don’t really know what considered an popular and unpopular opinion as I’ve rarely heard anyone talk about them. The only things I’ve ever heard about them is:

Cinderella 3 is a really good film ( personally I wouldn’t say it was the best film but I’ll admit it’s good)

apparently the Little Mermaid 2 is considered a bad film ( I’ve actually never seen it, but If we’re talking about an bad film that goes to Fox and the Hound 2 in my opinion)

Anyway not sure if this is going to be unpopular opinion but I dislike Peter Pan I could never get into the film plus it probably didn’t help that I didn’t like the character either.

You know what? I hate the sloths from Zootopia.

I was already just kinda over them by the time the movie even dropped because cinemas' insisted on playing that same trailer before every movie. Now I've grown to absolutely hate them because of how much they still get pushed into my face in place of other, perfectly marketable characters. Seriously, if it’s not Nick and Judy, it's freaking Flash or whatever his name is.

I want more Clawhauser stuff, Disney!

Tarzan is one of the best Disney Renaissance films. I didn't mind Phil Collins' soundtrack, and didn't find it invasive (unlike Brother Bear). The animation is gorgeous, especially the groundbreaking ways they animated the vines.

Fox and the Hound is a beautiful movie and the best in the Disney dark ages. Everyone remembers Rescuers and Robin Hood, but Fox and the Hound was peak during that age. It also has a surprisingly bittersweet ending.

The gargoyles from Notre Dame aren't as bad as everyone makes them out to be. Are they a bit off-color? Yes, but they aren't the worst thing ever and I could understand wanting to implement the Disney trope of inhuman sidekicks.

Despite being an offensive movie, Pocahontas is top 3 in Disney Renaissance soundtracks.

not sure how unpopular this is but I honestly prefer the films Walt was personally involved in as opposed to the ones after his death. People don’t seem to realize Walt was a lot more of an artist than a business man in his younger days.

Not sure if unpopular, but I am getting really sick and tired of the Live Action remakes.

The Rock even announced a live action remake of Moana, you know, a movie that was released just 6 years ago, isn’t even old enough to drink yet, and while a commercial success, isn’t as popular as Frozen, which would’ve been a better choice for a live action remake despite also being a recent film.

Not to mention there are still many Princess films that have yet to get a live action remake that came long before Moana.

Why do I feel like The Rock had a hand in this? And it feels like a desperate comeback after the DC fiasco.

I wish it was an April Fools joke but nope, it wasn’t announced on April 1. This last stunt has just turned me off from Disney live action for good. I was half looking forward to the Little Mermaid too…

I swear if they start making live action adaptations of their video games…

Edit: I can’t believe The Mouse caved to a rock!

I almost agree with the Tarzan take, but pretty much any scene trying to be comedic falls flat hard for me and though I don't mind the Phil Collins soundtrack, it certainly is the weakest of the renaissance era for me. Also I really like how dark the movie is at times (i.e. When Kala finds Tarzan next to the bloody bodies of his parents or when Clayton dies via hanging).

I think I'm one of the few who thinks the Hunchback of Notre Dame was one of the best, if not the best, of the renaissance era. Tony Jay as Frollo is peak Disney villain. Hellfire is my favorite song of the era, the comedic elements are kept to a minimum by making the comic relief characters stuck in the tower and only talk to Quasi when he's alone, and the film is also appropriately dark. Frollo literally was going to kill a baby after killing his mother until he was guilted by the priest. I don't know, everything just works well for me.

If Snow White absolutely had to be remade… I'd rather have a CGI remake. And I'd hold off on making it for at least another decade so it can come out for the original film's 100th anniversary.
