Sora (An analysis and question)

So, what exactly is Sora? He's a Somebody, but why is he special enough to store hearts and basically exist as a living symbiote?

I think it was explained that simply because Sora has a pure heart, where he can see the good in everyone or something, he is able to accept all of those people in his heart.

That's pretty much it. Ansem explains that it's the love in his heart that allows him to connect to others, accept their hearts, and help them exist in that way. It's not something that is particularly unique to Sora; I believe Nomura has said that anyone can do the same, but only Sora does. That is what makes Sora both special and ordinary.
