Why does Sora change into his KH II suit then back into 3D's why couldn't we just play with him wearing his KH II outfit.

Something to do with breaking the boundary between Reality and a Dream. I believe that's what it is....

In the Ultimania Nomura answers this question by saying while he is in his second sleep he is seeing himself the way he knows he really looks like, like if you fall asleep while wearing a strange costume you would imagine yourself wearing average street clothes because that's your default appearance and that's what you know you really look like.

People keep referencing and posting quotes from the DDD Ultimania but where are they finding this? Is it here on the site? I don't get where people are getting the Ultimania from since it's only available in Japan and there's no English translation.

There are a few passable storyline reasons, but in reality it's likely because animating his KH2 model to perform hundreds of attacks would have been way too much work for a five minute gameplay segment.

One of those storyline reasons is probably the reason why.

Both Sora and Riku's clothes changed upon entering the RoS. Sora's changed into the outfit arranged by the real Org. XIII, these clothes had a special symbol on it that would allow them to track Sora's every move. Riku's changed into a 'dream eater' outfit because he was just that in Sora's dreams.

That's not entirely correct though. Their younger forms and new outfits were due to Yen Sid's magic which would not be reversed until they return to the Mysterious Tower. That's why Sora and Riku are also in their younger forms and DDD attire when in the real world.

The only things not added by Yen Sid were the Dream Eater-symbol on Riku's back (it appeared when he became a Dream Eater spirit) and the silver "X" on Sora's chest (Recusant's sigil planted by Ansem, Seeker of Darkness).

If that's the case, why don't young Sora and Riku have the new clothes when the game starts at Destiny Islands? It was also a sleeping world since they had to handle one of the keyholes there. I'm a bit unclear on this.
