The point I'm trying to make is the way TAV were trained might be DIFFERENT than sora's way....but that doesn't necessarily make them BETTER.....In the end, if sora can beat his enemy with what he's learned on his own, thats all that matters....plus, Eraqus had many flaws as far as being darkness racist....so some might feel what he considers mastery might be flawed.

Remember who else was present at the Mark of Mastery exam? Xehanort. And he certainly wasn't darkness racist.

So does Terra. Aqua being Eraqus' ideal student would never use the darkness. And Ven has a heart of pure light, so it's not like he could use darkness anyways.

When he's anti-form, I've never read anything about him losing his rationality....and he does seem to know the difference between friend and foe even in this state, so its safe to assume he is still himself in this form...

I'll give you that. He is, after, the second person to retain his consciousness even after becoming a Heartless. But since Apprentice Xehanort was the only other wielder to become a Heartless, and he was also able to retain his consciousness, it doesn't really prove much.

In KH1, yes, he was testing him. That wasn't the case in KH2, which led to Xemnas begging Kingdom Hearts for more power.

Yes, Terra and Ven both had final bosses. Although Aqua's scenario seems to indicate that while yes, you the player completed the battle, the plot still had the main character lose. Afterall, Terra wasn't able to defeat Xehanort. Aqua had to defeat both Xehanort and Vanitas.

This I can kind of agree with, to an extent anyways. Granted, there's still a lot of things Ven knows that Sora doesn't, since the commands in BBS were designed with the prospect of showing just how different the strength and abilities of a wielder who's received proper training are compared to one who hasn't.

I wouldn't be surprized if Ventus has more knowledge of the Keyblades abilities since he's been given proper training from a Master, while the amount of training Sora's received is somewhere around, well, zero.

Depends on who he's "far below." Ven? Probably not. Terra and Aqua? Yes.

I was actually speaking of all three. While I believe the power grid shows Aqua as the strongest, Terra being the middle man, and Ventus being the weakest, I'm assuming they're still similar in power. I'm basing it off the fact that while Ventus was able to defeat Vanitas not wielding an x-blade, Aqua still showed strong signs of being tired out from her second fight with him and fainted as a result.

Yeah, so I haven't played KH2 in a while, but I was always under the assumption that was just a test, Xemnas just toying around with him. As for the Roxas bit, technically he is half of Sora, and holds half of Sora's power. So it was two halves of one person fighting against each other.

As I said earlier, I'm pretty certain he admitted to testing Sora in KH1. I don't think that was the case in KH2, which led to him becoming Twilight Xemnas. Sora wouldn't have been able to defeat that one on his own. I'll accept the Roxas bit.

Again, BBS' abilities and commands were created in order to show the difference between someone who's received proper training and someone who hasn't. Though, considering the difference between command styles and drive forms, it's difficult to say. The one thing that I find questionable is that Sora needs those magic fairy clothes to use them. What would happen if, for some reason, he wasn't wearing them?

It's true he was given his magic clothes, but who's to say TAV weren't given their magic armor? Either way, my initial post was also questioning how "canon" gameplay abilities are, so I don't take them too seriously unless they have an effect on the plot.

If anything, the argument you've made regarding that subject would be more likely to work in TAV's favor as opposed to Sora's, considering the χ-blade.

I'll let this one go too, since either way TAV show better mastery over the Keyblade's abilities. My main argument is that Sora, if not on a similar level as TAV, isn't far below.

Sora works hard for his power too, the only power we was "given" were the drive forms. Isn't Sora's heart special in the sense it can connect to almost anyone he meets, thus making Drive forms more of a unique ability for him? Also was it explicitly stated somewhere that the armor is an actual skill opposed to an accessory? It seems to be "activated" by the press of a button.

I think TVA are better with the keyblade, cause they're trained by a master, which Terra beat his master But did not defeat Xehanort, But they did stop his plans of using the x-blade for their own selfish reasons. But since than, Sora got a blind run through his adventures since he got his Keyblade, still learning, He didnt know what to do with the keyblade at first, but he used it to defeat darkside, without knowing if he could. But what i do think is Sora will gain more experience throughout his newest adventures, and finish what the three hasn't finished.

I will admit that TAV know how to utilize the keyblade more to how it was intended by the original masters....but I feel Sora and riku, and maybe in the future kairi have learned ways to utilize the keyblade and use skills that Eraqus was not aware of....like riku's twilight road.

I'm pretty sure Eraqus would not approve, but Effectively using some of his dark powers with light really makes him a contender....Terra would be stronger if he was not restricted and actually trained his dark powers. I think Eraqus has limited the potential of TAV by making them stay the path of light.....Ven would be no doubt the strongest if he utilized his light and Darkness(vanitas) powers

I was actually asking about the Memory's Skyscraper battle in KH2. I know full well that KH1FM battle was a test.

Because they fought him at different points in the story. It's normal for people to gain better skills along the way.

That armor does nothing but protect them from the darkness, and also serve as extra physical protection, like armor normally does.

I'll let this one go too, since either way TAV show better mastery over the Keyblade's abilities. My main argument is that Sora, if not on a similar level as TAV, isn't far below.

The Lingering Sentiment's journal entry in KH2FM clearly states that its mastery over the Keyblade far exceeds that of Sora's.
