I'm still waiting to see the drop gauge in action

From what I've seen of the videos and the translations, I believe the Reality Shifts happen randomly. The Drop Gauge doesn't seem to change when they are activated, and neither does the pink bars around the dream eaters. So I'm assuming now that every once in a while that pink marker will just show up on an enemy.

Also, have any of the other videos shown three dream eaters on the bottom screen before?
