I fought Terra for the First Time

That fight was terrible. Well just really hard but fun. Me and my friend almost had him beat when he did the insta death move and he picked the wrong one

Does anyone have advice on how I could dodge that drain attack? I got him to use his desperation move and survived but that move killed me though.
