What if Days tooks a lot more inspiration from the Persona games and they utilized the days/calendar system and even used the social links too but this time for each of the Organization members?

And just like in Persona you will learn more about each Organization member, unlock new abilities/techniques for them, and ultimately make them stronger for your overall party (where in this version you can add any members to your party who is available or alive at that point).

  • Come So Far
That would honestly have been so much better than what we got.

I think the word Confidant, introduced in Persona 5, would work better. Seeing as how the word Social Link sounds too casual for a relationship between the Nobodies and how some of them are just outright pricks. If they ever remade 358/2 Days, which I doubt, they should definitely go with this route, and have that affect the gameplay in the sense that, the more you progress their Confidant Rank, the better they can get as party members and you can get abilities and weapons from them.

EXACTLY! And yeah I'll have to agree that calling them confidant would be a better term than social link.

But just imagine it. We could have learned the motivation from each of the members as to why they joined the Organization (other than just wanting to be whole again), what they were doing before, and how certain members came to "feel" betrayed by Roxas in KH2 whenever you defeat them with Sora. This experience would be have been really helpful for members such as Demyx and Luxord.

Heck from Xaldin (and maybe the other original members) we could have learned about why they chose to follow Xehanort back then. Was it because of intimidation, fear, or even admiration, or just a weird combination of all those traits. On a side note we probably could have training different kind of Nobodies on the side similar to the Personas.

Though I'm not sure what to do with the members who went to Castle Oblivion and perished. Sigh...man Days had so much potential...

Sounds like something someone should make as a fan project, but if they remade 358/2 with this system they'd better rework everything else too. Battle was ok but felt tedious, missions were garbage, and the leveling up pack thing was awful. They used turn based in Olympus Coliseum for Coded so why not make it a turn based game and give you more than one party member? That'd be pretty neat.

That would would be even better espcially since most non-numbered KH games was where Nomura and Square started testing all of these new gameplay mechanics like card based gameplay or the command decks.
Hell, when it would come to Roxas's confidants or social links he could even have some OUTSIDE of the Organization. Like he could have had links with Hayner, Pence and Olette which would have established their characters more. Heck Roxas could have even had a part-time job as a storekeeper lol.
