Download Spybot Search and Destroy and other popular anti-virus applications. They are crucial to keeping a safe, healthy, virus and spyware free computer. Might I add installing a Firewall, XP SP2 has one but it sucks hard..Zonealarm is a good choice for beginners.

weird. o_O

lucky, we never got it. kept the computer off the whole time.

That's the instant cure for virus alerts, people! I'm sure you could live without the comp till the virus threat was over, if you put your minds to it.

lol. If you got the one in the announcemnet, you opened a porn email. lol Because that's the method it uses.
If you want to get rid of it. Symantec has a little removal tool that should get rid of it.
And it only actually inflicts damage on your computer on the 3rd of every month. I'll look for the Symantec Removal tool, and post it.

Edit>>>
Found it.
Just go here http://www.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/w32.blackmal@mm.removal.tool.html

Download, and run.
