Hello everyone, I'm a new member to the forums. Nice to meet you!
I would like to share my game concept with you, but first and foremost, allow me to thank Solosis and Sign for guiding me to this forum so that I can share my concept with you. I really appreciate their help.
Let me make an introduction . This game concept is about a Kingdom Hearts title I imagined about five years ago when I was 14. I had a hobby of imagining stories and characters when I was free, and if the mood came, I would hop in and act as the characters myself and have the scripts and dialogues spoken by myself (don’t laugh at me, I love dramas). I was playing Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories, my very first Kingdom Hearts game, at the end of that year. I suddenly came up with the thought of having a KH movie. What would the poster look like if it were true? And I started drawing Sora looking depressed in a raining Traverse Town. Then I designed the title and randomly wrote: Kingdom Hearts: Heart of Memories. I admit that the title was a little inspired by Chain of Memories, but the story was in no way related to CoM.To be honest, I had not even imagined the story. So I drew a few shadows around Sora, and I wrote a quote at the left side: He has lost his friends… his memories… and his HEART. And so the story starts off…
Kingdom Hearts: Heart of Memories (I know this title is dumb. Just… just stop laughing)
Prologue
I will only include the prologue of the game because the story is incomplete.
The game’s opening scene is set in a raining Traverse Town. Sora faces a few Shadows that have no intention to attack him for some reason. He meets a man named Akira and later reveals to Akira that he had lost his heart during a riot in Destiny Islands. Akira decides to help him out and the two sets off a journey from world to world in search of Sora’s heart. If you wish to see the whole opening, here it is:
That’s the rough opening I imagined. So basically Sora loses his heart and becomes a Heartless. I initially imagined this theory when I was playing CoM, so I had no knowledge about the Heartless. I thought when someone loses his heart he becomes a Heartless (lit. no heart).
Sora’s case is a little special. He loses his heart, but retains his human form and his mind. He has lost his emotion as well, but he still is Sora, so he can’t be a Nobody too. Probably there should be a new term for him? Hmm. Also, I initially planned that Sora loses his memory due to the loss of his heart, but seeing that he still remembers what happened in the islands, I think it would be illogical. Will one lose his memories upon losing his heart?
Anyway, these do not change the fact that Sora has lost his heart, which greatly inspires the gameplay and battle system of this title!
Gameplay
In this title, a new battle system is introduced. It is called the Heart System. Because Sora has lost his heart, he can use whichever heart he collects during the journey to utilize various abilities (despite how illogical it is; wanna hit me in the head?). Most bosses defeated by Sora will drop their hearts and by collecting them, Sora can use them whenever he wants. For instance, Guard Armor’s heart grants Sora a higher defense and slightly higher attack compared to the original Sora, and will change Sora’s appearance to look similar to Guard Amor. This… sounds like Mega Man. Whatever.
Features
For the past years, I had tried playing the story in my mind and had created some interesting battles.
That’s it for the whole concept! Though there are still a lot of things bugging me:
Despite these, I’ve designed two posters for the game and the concept arts for Sora and Guard Armor. I’ve also written the script AND drawn the manga for the beginning part of the prologue! I’ll post them to the Traditional Media section next week after I’ve finished my exam and found the folder containing my artworks. Please give me some time and do drop by the mentioned section to check out my work next week!
Lastly, feel free to give me your opinions. Thank you very much!
Edit: The posters and manga has already been uploaded in the Traditional Media! Please go check them out!

Spoiler Show
In a street where it is raining heavily, there stands a boy holding a Keyblade in his right hand. He is looking at his feet, looking extremely depressed. Several Shadows are creeping around this boy, but strangely, they do not seem to have any intention to attack him… could they be friends?
The boy’s next movement denies this assumption. He suddenly raises his Keyblade and takes out all the Shadows in a few slashes. The street remains silent apart from the sound of the rain, and the boy remains calm yet appears to be as depressing as he was just now.
“Isn’t that a Keyblade?” a man’s voice suddenly breaks the silence. Shocked, the boy turns around quickly to see the uninvited guest. It is a man with blonde hair dressed in a neat black suit (notice the word suit, not coat!!), though he looks as wet as the boy in the rain.
“Did I just scare you? My apologies. My name is Akira.”
“Akira?” asks the boy doubtfully.
“Looks like you need help,” says Akira, smiling.
“You can’t help me,” says the boy, who turns around and walks away slowly. “No one… can help me.”
What’s wrong with this kid? Thinks Akira.
“I’m a Heartless,” the boy continues, looking at his feet.
This quote strikes Akira like a thunder. Heart… Heartless? Heartless are the monsters without hearts (correction: emotions). They live on by consuming people’s hearts. But this boy… a key bearer… a Keyblade is a weapon that destroys the Heartless. No matter how he looks, a key bearer couldn’t be a Heartless!
Akira stays silent, waiting for an explanation. The rain keeps pouring down constantly.
Finally, the boy speaks. “Several days ago…” And he tells his whole background.
(Sorry for his terribly summarized background, but this is not meant to be a novel)
Several days ago, in Destiny Islands, a Heartless riot broke out. Sora was separated from his friends during the chaos and was sucked into a dark void. In the darkness, he fought with an enormous Heartless and won the battle. However, the battle had drained away all his strengths physically and mentally. Before he completely lost his consciousness, he heard an unfamiliar voice.
“Such a strong heart…(insert some profound and hard-to-understand quotes here)”
And he blacked out.
When Sora woke up, he found himself lying on a heavily raining street. He recognized that it was Traverse Town, although it never rained. And it seemed to be in the afternoon, which was also unusual. He picked himself up and walked around before knowing that this town was already deserted. The only beings in the town were… the Heartless.
Strangely, they did not attack him.
Sora felt very uneasy. Why weren’t the Heartless attacking me? He slowly moved his hand to his chest and pressed his palm on there. There were no heartbeats at all.
This can’t be! He did not believe this was real. However, no matter where he shifted his palm onto, there were no signs of heartbeat at all. And it was the only explanation to why the Heartless were not attacking him. They were comrades.
Slaying the Heartless did not help at all. Sora spent these days wandering in the town and destroying every Heartless he saw, but nothing had changed.
“So that is how you ended up being a Heartless here,” concludes Akira. He thinks for a moment, digesting the shocking fact. “Then I may be able to help you.” he finally speaks.
Sora turns around and stares at Akira. “How?” he asks.
“I’m traveling from world to world,” answers Akira. “Mind if I lend you a hand?”
“Are you really going to help me?” Sora suddenly sees a glimmer of hope.
“That is if you allow me to take you to a shelter,” Akira smiles.

For the past years, I had tried playing the story in my mind and had created some interesting battles.
- Guard Armor has a badass look.
- Traverse Town will be hit by a sandstorm which brings the Midgar Zolom (the serpent from FFVII) to the street as a boss. The whole town will bathe in sand!
- There will be a fight against Sephiroth in the Radiant Garden, though it’s hard to make a theory for him to drop his heart… I wish I could…
- Akira will be a party member for most of the time now that Donald and Goofy are not around.
That’s it for the whole concept! Though there are still a lot of things bugging me:
- A better name for Akira? I kind of created this name randomly.
- Better title? It was also created randomly.
- Who’s the main villain? Why would he steal Sora’s heart?
- Timeline position? It originally was after CoM, but it's impossible since KH2 already exists. Hmm... perhaps after the Xehanort Saga?
- Disney worlds?
- Keychains?
- Damn!!
Despite these, I’ve designed two posters for the game and the concept arts for Sora and Guard Armor. I’ve also written the script AND drawn the manga for the beginning part of the prologue!
