This has become almost a paradoxical question. It's almost like the question "Can God create a rock so heavy that he himself cannot lift it?"
Basically there is no way that someone can claim that God knows what we're going to do without denying the fact that God is responsible for all the pain and suffering that humanity must endure. By saying that God knows what we're going to do to some extent but can't control us gives religion a scapegoat to dump evil onto while at the same time gives them the image of a benevolent God that lets humans have some amount of free will.
