OK this is my new fan fiction. It's about Kingdom Hearts. And the names of places, etc were made up by me and Sam (ILoveKh2ForLife). I will explain their origins at the end of the chapter. I also worked the bit from KH2 after the ending where they get the letter from King Mickey. No, this isn't a theory on what the letter was about, it just fits with the story.
Anyway, here you go! (PS. Sorry it's a bit short. Next chapter will be longer, I swear)

Chapter 1
Sitting on the pier, legs dangling over the edge, Sora stared out to the horizon, sea sparkling in the sunset. A slight breeze blew through his spiky brown hair. The pier was his favourite place lately. It was his place to think about stuff. Like the lack of adventure in his life.
It had been one year since him and Riku had defeated Xemnas. When they returned to Destiny Islands, they told nobody about where they had been and what they had done. Sora and Riku agreed that they would just go back to living normal lives. It’s what they wanted. But not anymore. Sora missed the excitement of his previous life. Even though it was dangerous, he loved the thrill and adrenaline rush he received when battling the darkness. And he hadn’t seen his pals Donald and Goofy in two whole months. He missed them. All he wanted was another world to save. Another adventure. And deep down, he wondered why Riku didn’t feel the same.
All he needed was one battle. One struggle. Something to save him from the normal teenager life he was never cut out to live.
~~~
Lying back on the almost horizontal tree, Riku thought about what his life was missing. Something didn’t seem right. He knew he was meant to be doing so much more than living the average life that he agreed to live. He was back where he was a few years ago, when he, Sora and Kairi decided to build a raft and leave Destiny Islands. He was bored with the small islands, and wanted something new, something different. Now, he was feeling the exact same thing, except he knew what that something different was, and it wasn’t exactly something new.
But it was hopeless. He had already agreed with Sora that the simple, boring life is what they wanted. There was nothing he could do about it. He looked over at his best friend on the pier, barely visible from where he was sitting, and wondered how he managed to live like this.
~~~
A week passed. Sora and Riku continued to be bored. A few times, Kairi told them to stop being lazy and do something. But neither of them had the heart to tell her, or admit to each other, that there was simply nothing to do. Riku sat on the palm tree, in his usual train of thought.
Sora walked across the bridge, leading to where Riku was. He jumped over the tree, and leaned against it, bringing his hands behind his head.
“Nothing’s changed, huh?” Riku said softly, still thinking about the lack of excitement in his life, despite registering Sora’s presence.
“Nope. Nothing will,” Sora replied, which made Riku think that maybe Sora felt the same way.
Riku moved his head slightly to the right. “What a small world.” He felt that he could finally share his feelings with someone, if only just a little. Just saying this felt like lifting an enormous weight off his shoulders.
“But, part of one that’s much bigger,” Sora mentioned.
“Yeah,” Riku agreed.
There was a pause in their discussion. Then Sora began to think about their adventure a year ago. They had never really talked about this. It was like an unspoken rule, or agreement. But Sora had unanswered questions, and now felt like the time to discuss.
“Hey Riku, what do you think it was, the door to the light?”
Riku jumped off the tree, and Sora turned to face him. Riku tapped on Sora’s chest twice. “This.”
“This?” Sora repeated, looking down at his chest and placing his hand where Riku touched him.
“Yeah.” Sora looked up. “It’s always closer than you think.” Sora grinned.
“Sora! Riku!”
Sora and Riku turned around to see Kairi running towards them with a glass bottle in her left hand, and waving her right hand in the air. She stopped in front of them and leaned over, panting.
“Hey, what’s up?” Sora asked her.
Kairi raised her head and stretched out her right hand, which now had the bottle. “Look,” she panted.
Sora gazed at the bottle. He saw the letter inside it. He noticed King Mickey’s seal on it. “From the King?” he asked, knowing the answer. He grabbed the bottle out of Kairi’s hand, and quickly opened it. If it was from the King, it would be something important. He never wrote a letter to them when he visited with Donald and Goofy, they’d always drop by unexpectedly. So he obviously had something of significance to say, and Sora suspected that it could lead him to what he wanted.
Riku felt the same. He looked over Sora’s shoulder, reading the letter. Kairi moved behind Sora, and looked over his other shoulder. She started to read the letter aloud.
“Dear Sora, Riku and Kairi” she read. “An important matter has come to my attention. There’s a world called Austgon, somewhere out there. I don’t really know where. Anyway, I gotta letter from the King, well, former King of that world. He says that his world has been taken over by an evil group known as Victorian Mactabilis. I don’t really know a lot about them, but if they can take over a whole world, this means bad news. Anyway, I need your help in this. There’s no way me, Donald and Goofy can defeat them all by ourselves. Besides, you fellas must be bored out of your brains.”
“Is he a mind reader?” Sora and Riku said in unison. Kairi laughed, and continued reading the letter.
“I’ll be over there in a few days to pick you guys up. You might wanna prepare for the trip before I get there. It’s gonna be a long one. Yours sincerely, King Mickey,” Kairi finished reading the letter.
There was a moment of silence as Sora, Riku and Kairi thought over what King Mickey wrote. Kairi was feeling mixed emotions. A part of her was excited, but nervous. It was a new experience for her. She wasn’t used to saving people; she was always the one being saved. It was a nice change, but there was the element of her being a rookie. What if she made a fool of herself in front of Sora? Still, she wanted the chance to prove herself.
Then another part was scared. The Victorian Mactabilis sounded tough. They were probably stronger than anyone her friends had battled before. This wasn’t gonna be easy. She was worried for herself and her friends. Yet she knew it was something they had to do.
Sora and Riku, however, had only one thought on their minds. Adventure.

Ok, time to explain the names.
Austgon ~ Australia (country where I live) + Oregon (state where Sam lives). All from Sam
Victorian Mactabilis ~ Victoria (state where I live) and Mactibilis means deadly, lethal in Latin (according to Sam's research) Both of us get credit on this one. And it probably doesn't make a huge lot of sense, but it sounds kinda cool. And deadly/lethal fits. You'll see later on.
Victorian Nightmare ~ All my thinking, lol. Victorian, cause of Victorian Mactabilis, and Nightmare, cause it's kinda bad what they do.
There, that probaby just confused you more, or proved how lame I am, but I tried. =P
CnC on the story is much appreciated.
EDIT: NOW ON FF.NET! =D

Anyway, here you go! (PS. Sorry it's a bit short. Next chapter will be longer, I swear)
