how are vanitas and riku connected besides the outfit how much more is the same.

He seems to be the token rival character to our Sora of the story. He doesn't have too many deep connections as it seems, since you can keep tying Riku more easily to Terra.

and Vanitas has Riku's fighting stance before he fights but other than the outfit, fighting style, and rivalry he has no comfirmed connection to Riku

I think there is a great possibility that they are connected rather than they have the same face

here are all of the connections
1. vanitas' outfit is very similar to riku's dark suit
2. vanitas and riku have the same battle stance
3. vanitas holds his hand out to ven just like riku did to sora in kh1
4. vanitas' keyblade has blue eyes on it, just like riku's soul eater/way to the dawn
