"13 Pure Darknesses"? There are 13 Seeker of Darknesses, but they aren't pure by any means. They all have light in their hearts except for Vanitas.

And yeah, he's a SoD. It is implied in Kingdom Hearts 3D when Vanitas appears/resonates with Young Xehanort and talks about Sora's heart being a prison in La Cité des Cloches. The gold eyes would also imply he's probably got some Xehanort in him.
