The Snow Queen has a LOT left out of the Disney adaptation, and that sucks because Walt REALLY wanted to make a movie based on it.
It starts with the devil forging a mirror, the surface of which is inverted and will show the bad and grotesque attributes of a person. After a period of showing it to various things around the world before the devil and his minions elect to take it to god and have him look at it. Along the way to heaven they drop the mirror, and the surface breaks into billions of shards, some of which being reformed into glass panes or glasses, but most ending up in the eyes and hearts of people, turning their view on the world into one of cold ugliness.
And that's just the first chapter, it then focuses on a boy and a girl, the former of which ends up with one of the shards in his eyes, turning him from a gentle, caring soul into an angry, spiteful little $#!t who only sees snowflakes as beautiful. He eventually comes across the eponymous snow queen and she spirits him away, leaving the girl to go after them on an adventure.
And how does Disney show off their version of the snow queen to the public?
With a short focusing around the dumb@$$ snowman.
Real talk, if Frozen were exactly like the tale I just described, would you enjoy it?
