Are you sure that you have the drivers for it?

And, just as a failsafe, are you sure it is plugged in properly?

I'm sure it's plugged in right because I even opened up my computer and took it out then put it back in. I'm not sure I have the drivers.....do you know where I could could download some?

Do you happen to know what kind of sound card it is? Need that in order to look up the driver on their site.

Go to the sound thing in the control panel or click the speaker thing on the very right corner where it shows you some of the applications running if there is and try seeing if the volume thig went down all the way
