So have we found out why and how Sora can fuse bodies with Donald and Goofy yet? It's his new clothes right? And he can do it because he's not whole... right??

I think it's just meant as a fun thing to do in the game, and something to make the fighting easier. But maybe he can do this because his heart isn't complete.

Sora is complete when you start to play as him in KH 2 cos Roxas rejoined him.
the fairys gave him the ability so could have Yensid.
the fusion comes with the clothes.
