Question regarding raid bosses

I understand that Raid Bosses appear after you defeat 80 or so foes. However, I'm trying to figure out if there's any rhyme or reason to the kinds that appear; just from what I've observed, it seems like the types of Heartless defeated and their levels of strength have some effect on the boss that appears. (ex: I kill a buncha normal magic-types and a normal Trickmaster appears. Killing some normals along with a powerful one like the boss from quest 300 got me an omega Trickmaster.) Is this the case, or am I just imagining things? I'd like a semi-reliable way to summon more powerful bosses so I can power up certain medals even when exp. medal events aren't open for the day.

It's based on the quest.

Omega versions have a "chance" to appear if done on later quests.

I don't have the info with me but it shouldn't be so hard to find.
