Biography: Not knowing his true origins, Matthew was taken in by the Captain of the Dragon Knights of Castle Ysteven, Richard Sikado, and raised in the way of the Dragon Knights when he was seven. At the age of nine he had already learned how to fully master a bow. Richard saw potential in him and soon began training him in the art of the Sword. Seven years went by and he was already at the same skill level as his father.

Over time, he had made some friends, a Cross Knight, Ryu Suibete, a Mage, Leion Suibete (Ryu's Brother), a Professor of Machines Jacub Carano, and a Dragonet (Human Girl/Dragon Hybrid) on Dragonis Mountain Rei Misato.

One day, as Matthew was coming back to the castle from the Dragonis Mountains, a sentry ran to him and told him that an assassin of the Dragon King to the north had kidnapped Richard and Leion while he was gone and the castle was under attack by a Harpian (Human/bird hybrid) controlling the Dragonets. The Dragon Knights fought bravely. Atop the northeast tower, Matthew was battling the Harpian Commander, Marid. He ended up losing his right hand as he foolishly left his guard down, the Harpian biting it off. Before the final blow was givin to Matthew, a strange light fell from the sky, shooting the Harpian far away from the castle. Fearing the light, the Dragonets also fled.

A few days have passed since then.

After recovering from the attack, Matthew realized that he was the last member of the Dragon Knight squad, the others were slain in the fierce battle. Joined by Ryu, Jacub and Rei (She wasn't part of the attack, being the only one to escape the Harpian's mind control), he travels on to the Castle Freilgn, where the Dragon King resided. Before they left Jacub gave him a special bracelet, should he ever need to use it. A furious battle was fought, but the Dragon King sealed Matthew inside a Time Distortion Field and was wisped away through time and space.

When he woke up, he didn't recognize the forest that he was in. After stretching his limbs, he decided to look around the area to see if he could find anyone nearby. Worried for his friends, Matthew starts to proceed into the woods hopes to find a town or someone to learn of his new location...

Alright, I suppose I can teach you if someone more qualified doesn't show up.

But first, welcome to KHI and the RP forums. You'll find here that these are quite different from the chatroom variety of RPing - as the Challenges section and Balamb Garden shows. Now, if you don't really know much about challenges, a nifty little guide made by The Maradurer will guide you easily. It's not eye-candy, but hey, it works. And if you go to the Guide Main thread that is sticky'd at the top of the RPing page and click on "Lord of Chaos' Guide to the Omniverse", he will expain RP battles more in-depthly and making characters, as well. Two great guides to use.

The Challenges section is based mainly upon the concept of the Omniverse, or a massive collection of all multiverses, universes, planets, entities and beings, fictional, real or completely made-up by the people here at KHI. The Omniverse is governed by a set of rules, like any other area, however, these rules can be bent and even broken, to an extent. Understanding of these rules must come before you can break and/or bend them - and understanding is not easy. It takes a while. These are the people who do understand many of the rules of the Omniverse and, as a result, are very good fighters.

These are only a few of the people here, but they are some of the best of the best, and they can help you out as you learn more and your RPing skillz improve. I will post my own template, and then we shall battle. If someone else more qualified appears, however, I will hand over the reins to them, and they will guide you far better than I can. Good luck, my friend, and most of all have fun.

Welcome to KHI, I am the remaining MasterofOblivion, the last of a dying breed.

As Sir Meta so perfectly put, this is very different than the chat room rps you are probably used to. He has stolen most anything other to say except that hopefully you can learn and flourish here. I wouldn't say I am more qualified than Sir Meta, but I sure as heck am nicer to the new kids. So, your choice, me or him.

(Here is my template.)

Name: Octavius Eterna
Title: Eternus Doceo
Gender: Male
Race: Sempiterna

Occupation: Combatant, Tutor

Height: 5’8”
Weight: 216 lbs.
Complexion: Sempiterna (see Physical Depiction, below)
Mental Age: 799
Physical Age: 76 (looks 56)
Build: Old, Strong, Rough

Physical Depiction: Octavius looks old, and possesses gray hair that is cut short. He is going bald slightly and has a semi-long gray beard. His eyes are a determined, stubborn green, a very dark green. As a Sempiterna, he has very fair skin and takes on the physical shape of a human being, only more athletic than any normal human possibly could be. A scar runs down his face, oddly slanted so that it starts just above his left eye and comes just below his right. One of his legs was permenantly wounded in a very intense battle and as such, he limps. He is able to write and wield weapons with both of his hands.

Current Attire: Octavius is donned in nothing more but the robes of a humble monk, robes that flow down to his boots. His attire is black, all the way until it reaches his chest, and then it becomes blue. His sleeves are very big, and he usually tucks Bestia Vinco in one of his sleeves. Under his robes, he wears black pants and brown travelling boots, along with a white undershirt.

Personality: Octavius…is interesting. Very old, both physically and mentally, he wields a stubborn will. Gruff and rough almost always, he contrasts the mood of his apprentice extremely, always fearing for the worst and always preparing. Wiser than his young disciple, he gives words of advice to him that the young hothead usually ignores, and as a result, Octavius often has to act as the cavalry and pummel the morals into his student’s mind. He loves knowledge, all knowledge, and spreads it vigorously whenever he finds it, never hoarding his mental wealth to anyone who wants to know about it. Legend has it he has collected a library of books so huge, it takes up the span of a world. Although he does share his knowledge, however, he still has a rough and blunt tone and personality when sharing it, so this sends many a person away unfortunately.

Interested in:
- Learning
- Teaching
- Cheese. All sorts of cheese.

Detests:
- Brutality
- The withholding of knowledge
- Raisins

Armaments: Bestia Vinco is the only true weapon he wields, if it can be called a real weapon at all.

Abilities:

Sempiterna: As one of the last of the famed and respected Sempiterna, Octavius can change into any form of any being he desires to, as long as he has seen that form before. This can be anything, from a tiny mosquito to the images of gods themselves. He only copies the physical traits of such beings when he turns into them, including speed, strength, weight, height, mass and length – however, if Octavius is killed while in the form of another being he simply reverts back to his original form, unharmed but weakened extremely, physically and mentally. He also possesses sight far more tuned to the Omniverse than most beings and inhuman agility, defense and raw physical power.

Summoning: Stemming from his abilities of his race, Octavius can will forth any willing or surprised entity from the Omniverse to follow his commands. He cannot will forth beings who have learned much about the Omniverse, unless these beings are of an animalistic nature or he can barter a deal with said being. He is a master at this art of Magick, and when it is enhanced by his race’s natural knack for summoning he becomes a genius at it.

Infernal Magicks: Octavius wields the power of Infernal Magicks, also known as Unholy Magicks. These are extremely dark arts to master, and many a spell can lead to the death of the user. It branches out into Necromancy, Illusionism and various other fields, but what they all have in common is a particularly devastating effect against holy beings, or beings radiating a holy or good aura. No matter if they are fallen or not, these still harm them. Infernal Magicks can be put to a variety of uses, most notably in the evocation and conjuration fields. Manipulation of the darker side of the physical realm is also stemmed from these powers, and thus darker sides include shadows, darkness, gravity and electromagnetism, as well as matter.

Holy Magicks: Likewise, Octavius can wield Holy Magicks, or the most purest spells in the Omniverse. Holy Magicks are exactly the opposite of Unholy Magicks - they mostly heal people and summon good beings, doing harm to anything with a very dark or evil aura. It branches off into the fields of Healing and Clerical spells, but they all link back to this one heading, and they all can be wielded by Octavius to devastating effects. Combined, both of these abilities allow Octavius to fend off both demons and angels, as well as use them in a variety of creative ways. Holy Magicks are mainly used in the fields of healing and conjuration, as well as a bit of evocation. Manipulation of the lighter side of the physical realm is given to Octavius via these magicks as well, and that lighter side includes light, sound, stars, electricity, and various other forms of energy.

Bestia Vinco: This weapon takes the form of a beautiful whip, completely see-through. It seems to be made out of a flexible glass substance, but although looking fragile it is completely unbreakable in all ways. Gold and oak line the handle of the whip, and inside of the handle are a collection of gemstones. The whip extends about ten feet outwards or so. It possesses the ability to completely control the entities Octavius summons with his abilities, and if an opponent is completely tangled within it, it can force said opponent to speak the truth and nothing but the truth. It is not known whether these abilities extend from the realm of Magick or are simply an innate part of the whip itself. The whip ends with a pointed, poisoned tip.

Knowledge: As an entity who has existed for hundreds and hundreds of years, he has gained the time to research EVERYTHING. He knows almost all about Magick, as well as the various styles of combat and weapons. His intelligence is almost unsurpassed and his opinions are well-informed. A natural philophser, he talks about many things and knows many more - resulting in a vast wealth of knowledge about anything and everything. Thus, he can use any weapon and combat style in the Omniverse at whim. He has taught this all to his apprentice, Azariel Firetag.

History: The Sempiterna. Beings of untold old, wise elders of the galaxy, they were a prosperous race once. Once, they were liked humans in this galaxy, pouring across world after world, growing, spreading, bringing peace to all with their powers. Each one could summon beings to their aid and take the form of them as well – a power they wielded only for peace, only for justice, and only for balance. They lived for untold eons, immortals forever. The legend of the Sempiterna and their downfall is to the Omniverse as the fall of Atlantis is to the planet named Earth; a legend cloaked in mystery and deception, a legend of lies and hate.

The legend begins on the world of the Sempiterna, Orbis Arcanus, a grand world of cities and libraries and awesome structures that rivaled anything else in the Omniverse. The planet was open to all – every single being that wanted to come could come, from the poorest to the richest. Immigration was a massive problem, but no one really minded – after all, there was space to spare. So they let any race that desired to come in come in, and these races carved out niches for themselves. For a while, all was well. Then the Valkar came, and all hell broke loose.

The Valkar were gods of death, entities existing only for the destruction of every and any culture not up to their standards. They plauged the Omniverse in gigantic tomb ships, which took millions of years to reach their destinations. During this time, the Valkar slept in stasis chambers that kept whole millions of deadly warriors under control and asleep until the invasion began. Not only were they feared for this, but they were also feared for another trait, unique to their race – manipulation of time, in small amounts. When the Valkar came to Orbis Arcanus, they were surprised to see a fully blooming culture and a peaceful world. This, of course, was not up to their standards, so they plotted to launch an attack upon the planet when the time was ripe.

The Sempiterna, however, simply thought of them as newcomers, and thus welcomed the death-gods with open arms. They decided to host a feast for the newcomers, as they did for all incoming races. It would be a lavish feast, one of dance, joy, and happiness – like all the feasts of the Sempiterna were. It was to be held in the highest library and the biggest building of them all, the Icarus Skyscraper, near the top level of the building. All were invited and all joined in the fun – except for the race being honored. No one noticed at first, but after hours of fun people began to realize something – their guests had never arrived. Not a single word, nor a single footstep was heard from them, and this confused many. Especially the Sempiterna themselves, who were puzzled about why the race their feast was dedicated to had not come.

During the whole time, the Valkar had been amassing their forces and readying for war upon the planet. Thousands of tombships blocked out the planet’s skies as a massive barrage began, laser cannons and death pulses frying continental-sized craters across the planet’s surface. Oceans were parted and mountain ranges decimated. It was an apocalypse as the Valkar unleashed everything upon their so-called enemies. The Sempiterna were shocked to the core by this show of violence – and as a result, 99% of their race was destroyed. Systemically, the Valkar slaughtered their race across the whole galaxy, leaving a main force on the capital planet to patrol and slaughter any other survivors. With a grim finality, the Sempiterna came to terms with their situation. They were natural warriors, and endowed with great powers; so they called forth a legion of powerful creatures and surged onward, upon the Valkar.

What traversed after had to be the single biggest conflict in the Omniverse between two higher races. Gigantic Collosi ravaged the battlefields, slugging it out with Valkar DeathLords and destroying their tombships with their bare hands. Insects swarmed across the planet, spreading a plauge across the Valkar, and the race responded with bio-bombing on a horrific scale. Demons and angels fought side-by-side for the Sempiterna against black time warriors and huge monsters of death bioengineered by the Valkar. It was an epic conflict, one which ended when the Sempiterna elders joined together and conjured forth a great dragon. This dragon proceeded to explode with the power of a blue star, completely annihilating all of the Valkar and the Sempiterna at once. Although the conflict was over, the Sempiterna had paid a very dear price, both on their planet and on their race.

However, some Sempiterna miraculously survived that gigantic implosion of the dragon and now roam the Omniverse, searching for their kin to start anew. One of these beings happens to be Octavius Eterna, an elite warrior who fled from the battle on the orders of his commander to preserve his race. He was knocked far off course by the dragon’s implosion, and propelled to a distant planet. A VERY distant planet, as it happened to be.

This planet was in the middle of hosting a tournament, a tournament of great warriors from across the Omniverse. It was a legendary tournament, that was to take place upon a variety of planets. It not only acted as a tournament but also as a deadly race of sorts, where all the contestants used their power to get from planet to planet and slaughter their foes on the way. Octavius was interested in this tournament and thusly, he signed up to it, eager to honor his fallen race and wanting to gain more knowledge of the Omniverse as a whole. During the tournament, he effortlessly destroyed the rest of the competition, hopping from planet to planet along the way. No matter how many of the fighters tried to attack him, he fended them off and left them all to die, brutally destroying them without mercy. The other contestants began to dwindle, faster and faster, and the tough ones finally showed themselves. However, Octavius continued to battle and destroy, inside and outside of the tournament, until only four beings remained, including Octavius himself.

The semi-finals began, and as a result, the last four beings were paired up into two one-on-one battles. The first round was a bout between a pig-headed monster and an old, wrinkled man, using a cane to walk. It was a huge conflict, one that rocked the planet to its core and destroyed many worlds. The pig-headed monster ruthlessly fought against the nercromantic old man, but the old man did not give up and eventually managed to land a devastating blow that forced the pig-headed monster to vomit all of its guts up, ending the match in a gory spectacle. However, the old man had been fatally wounded and as a result, died from the conflict.

The second round was a bout between Octavius Eterna and another, named Azariel Firetag. When they met upon their battleground, a dead planet, Octavius took the time to mull over the irony and the symbolisism of the situation, and then attacked the young man. They seemed to battle forever, exchanging powerful blows and unleashing truly massive forces upon the dead world, similar to the conflict between the Sempiterna and the Valkar. Octavius summoned huge beings to aid him, but the boy would not back down, and sent them all back to their original lands. However, Azariel eventually was weakened to the point of collapse, and a well-aimed blow from Bestia Vinco knocked him to the ground. Octavius moved for the kill; however, at the last second, he pulled back. He sensed a future in this being - so he helped him up and carried him back.

They both talked, and eventually formed a friendship. Although Octavius had won the conflict, no word was heard for a while about the tournament. It seemed as if the whole conflict had disappeared into midair - as some of the contestants did also, eeriely. During the whole competition, some strong beings had just evaporated into thin air, there one day and gone the next. Rumors spread like wildfire through the contestants - a foul demon? Fluxations in space? A secret assassin in the ranks? Octavius had ignored these rumors before, but now they were undeniable - undeniable to the extreme. Then, about a month after the competition, he and Azariel received a note - a note that told them both to come to the starting point of the battle, a planet named Riobs. They both obliged, and found their way to a palace in the desert. Upon entering, however, they were attacked brutally by the creator of the tournament - a Valkar, named Arkam Asylumni.

This Valkar had heard of the death of his race and the survival of Octavius and his landing position. Days before he reached his destination, the Valkar had begun the tournament in hopes of luring the fighting Sempiterna into the conflict, and over the course of the battle had been taking the powers of others and giving them to himself. He had absorbed the powers of all the contestants but Octavius and Azariel, and now was hellbent on slaughtering one of the last Sempiterna. He brutally fought them both, and they fought back, just as hard. The battle raged for days and nights, neither side willing to give in or flee. But finally, Arkam brought his bioengineered sword down upon Octavius' leg, totally destroying a muscle and rotting the limb. Only after Azariel managed to impale Arkam upon a gigantic pike did the rotting stop, as well as a healing spell on Octavius. But Azariel knew his friend was gravely injured, and so he took him back to his home.

Once there, the young man nurtured Octavius back to health. Grateful for his act of kindness, the wiser Sempiterna offered the being mentorship. Azariel gladly accepted the offer, and they both have been wandering ever since.

You shall start, because I would like to see your skills. Set an arena and make an entrance post.

(Alright... oh, I updated the bio a little to give more descriptions of what he has and who he is. I'll continue where it left off in the Biography)

Matthew continued through the forest, trying to find an end to the massive shrubbery and the tall trees. He thought about trying to climb one to get his bearings, but they had no footholds to grab on to. Not too far along he came across a river. Dipping his hand inside, Matthew brings it up to his mouth, sipping the water. As he thought, it was clean water. Taking a bottle from his food pouch, he gathers enough to fill it and takes a sip from it. He pressed on for another hour and soon came up to an open plain, the soft winds flowing through the semi-tall grass in waves, sunlight shining upon him. Panting, he looks around the vast lands in front of him.

"Is there any town near here?" He asks himself, using his dragon-scaled right hand to move his hair from his eyes. "Wherever here is..." Judging by the way the forest line is, based on what he was taught by his father, something should be out in the plains. A trail? Another traveler? He didn't know, but he still had to press on, holding onto the idea that there is something in the plains that could help him. Brushing off the excess debris from his armor, he takes out a blue cloak from a pouch on his side and puts it on, adjusting the hood so that the sun wouldn't get in his eyes. He takes his first of many steps out in to the open air of the peaceful plains.

Another few hours have passed and still no luck in finding a town or village. Taking out his scarce rations from his food sack next to his pouch, he sips on his water again, but it is running low. It wouldn't be long before his food supply ran out either. He thought he had noticed something in the wind, he didn't quite understand it. He looked around the area, only seeing the vast plains of grass and the faint outline of the forest in the distance.

"The wind is diffrent here too, yet everything else...Hmm." Matthew said to himself as he continued onward.

Hmm.

This was such a calm place, such a boring little place, for a person such as Octavius Eterna to be. Normally, the man would have been chiding Azariel for his foolish escapades or dueling for pleasure against someone, but he was here now. Calm, collected, he sat in the middle of this average greenwood, completely embracing the natural world. He was on a journey - on a journey to look for his homeplanet, Orbis Arcanus. He had seen it, for around 798 years of his life. Until that day. Until that fateful, genocidal day.

The day the Valkar came.

But that was not what Octavius was currently thinking about. Currently, he was sensing a feeble prescence, a person in need, nearby. He felt a pang of despair, although he buried it, and Octavius thought of this to be a need for something. Most likely food, water, a shower, or all three. The Sempiterna sighed as he walked by, completely oblivious to Octavius' radiating sense of being there. He could not sense him, and this would of course make it easy to ambush him. However, Octavius never did such a thing.

The Valkar did.

The man warped himself before the boy, simply appearing without any glamour. He asked him this:

"What do you need? You like weary, tierd."

(Short entrance.)

Matthew was thinking about his home, at Castle Ysteven. How everyone there is more than likely worried about his return, after the Dragon King had sealed him in that TDF (Time Distortion Field). Plains all around him now, he wonders if he will ever leave this area.

"What do you need? You like weary, tierd."

Hearing this, he looked straight ahead. A man had appeared in front of him.

Matthew jumped back from the person before him, crouched down, his left hand already on the pommel of his sword, a look of surprise over his face. He had expected that there would be new things in this world, but didn't expect someone to suddenly appear like that.

"Who are you, friend or foe?" Matthew asks him, ready for anything, but when he looks at the man again, he doesn't appear to be an enemy. Looking over him, he just sees a common monk, also like from his time, but the colors on the robe weren't the same as the ones he knew. He sighs and stands back up.

"I'm sorry. I didn't expect anyone to approach me like that. My name is Matthew Sikado, and I'm trying to find a town near here, if there is one."

((If Sir Meta Knight wants to continue this, I'll be waiting... Also, the world this one takes place in is that same one that Misato is in in her own RP ' A Burning City, a Searching Girl'. Matthew's journey starts about the same time as Misato's, just in diffrent locations. Just thought I'd let you know.))
