Good things take time. Great things happen all at once. There is truth in that statement, but it cuts both ways. Bad things take time. Horrible things happen all at once. And sometimes, one day is enough time to end everything.
One day was certainly all it took for Rapture to collapse into hell. The ideal city, an underwater utopia where there was no government to repress you, no religion to guilt you, no communism to steal from you. A city where all are free, free to do whatever. A place where the artist was freed from the chains of censorship, where the scientist was free from morality.
This led to the ultimate discovery- plasmids. A chemical that rewrites your DNA to lend you supernatural powers. Snap your fingers to sent a jet of flame. Flick your wrist to launch a jolt of lightning. Convert your flesh into a horde of hornets. Anything is possible... but is it worth your humanity? Plasmids have driven people mad, and they have turned Rapture into a unique kind of Hell, of dark hallways, where bodies are a frequent sight, the once-human creatures known as Splicers wait around every corner, and somewhere out there, the Big Daddies and Little Sisters harvest Adam, the substance that fuels the creation of plasmids. And all the while, water slowly fills Rapture, threatening to drown the city of fallen ideals.

Why Bioshock? Because the game is going to rock the ****ing house, if you'll excuse the language. Much like Bioshock, this RP should be considered rated M for Mature.
Okay, so this game takes place New Year's Day, 1960. Last night, Rapture fell into absolute chaos. You are in Rapture, whatever your reasons- you could be an innocent trying to escape, a splicer trying to fuel your plasmid addiction, a federal agent trying to gather the secrets of plasmids, or one of the victims of a recent plane crash, stranded in the middle of the ocean, with your only choice to decend into Rapture to search for help. You can't be a Big Daddy or Little Sister.
For those poor souls who don't know what the heck I'm talking about, check out the wiki entry. And then buy the game. I promise it will own. Pwn, even.
Here's the template:
Name: (Should be obvious. Can be of any nationality.)
Age: (I don't recommend being a kid or a senior, as you'll just get killed, but whatever.)
Gender: (Nothing sarcastic to say here.)
Appearance: (Splicers usually wear masks, but no matter who you are, you probably look kind of scary. If only due to the blood splatters.)
Bio: (Your profession, your history, and how exactly you wound up at Rapture.)
Objective: (What are you trying to do? Get out, learn some secrets, kill everyone, bake an apple pie, etc.)
Plasmids: (You can only have 5 to start with, and only have 5 in your system at once. Switch them out at plasmid machines by spending Adam. If you're just showing up, you won't have any. Be warned, injecting your first plasmid is a horrible experience.)
Weapons: (Nothing in this place is state of the art. Most of it is pretty hobbled together. Your selection should represent this.)

Name: Jack Johnson
Age: 26
Gender: Male
Appearance: Jack wears a long-sleeve blue dress shirt with a loose red tie and khakis. None of this looks too nice anymore, as his clothes are dirty, slightly tattered, and even a bit bloodstained. His hair is short, brown, and slicked back, and his brown eyes are framed by a pair of glasses with one cracked lens. He's a moderately tall, thin man, and he looks rather unathletic- not the kind of man you'd expect to last long in the chaos of Rapture, but stranger things have happened.
Bio: A doctor and professor by profession, Jack was one of the most vocal critics of Andrew Ryan, the creator of Rapture. Jack considered his ideas immature and foolish, and the two of them became bitter rivals. Ryan was not forthcoming of his plans for Rapture, but before he left for the project, he told Jack that he would, one day soon, call him to come out to look at proof that his ideas worked. Jack took it as braggery, but true to his word, one day Ryan gave Jack the call.
Ryan got a boat to take him to Rapture, and just as Jack arrived, chaos erupted. Trapped in Rapture, Jack decided that he had to do something. He's still figuring out what, though.
Objective: Jack isn't really sure what to do- he wants to get out, but he also thinks that he needs to destroy all evidence of plasmids, and with it bury Ryan's mistake. He has forgiven Ryan for his foolishness, but that hasn't made the problem go away.
Plasmids: The good doctor only has two- one is a fire-based plasmid that allows him to fire jets of flame from his hands by snapping his fingers, and the other is a lesser form of telekinesis.
Weapons: He is also underequipped in this category- the doctor has a monkey wrench and a simple revolver with only two bullets loaded into it.
