Over the past few days, I'd been observing, studying and analysing the secret ending of KH2 FM+. After days of research, I've finally come up with a theory that just might be the actual meaning of the secret ending. Before I begin, please note that some of my theory include some other peoples thoughts as well.
First of all, the Elder Mage is definately Xehanort. There's no doubt about it. Just like someone said before previously, at first the elder mage(Xehanort) was too fragile to give in to the darkness. However, after he summons that big blue heart shaped moon, he becomes more powerful and becomes young again. And he's obviously the keyblade master.
The thing he summons at the beginning of the ending is what we call a chaser. Now I think that this chaser character is Xigbar(Because this was set in the past, it would be Braig). Why? Well, if you look carefully, the way the chaser stands and the way Xigbar stands are very similar. In fact almost identical. Another reason is that why is it that Xigbar knows so much about Xemnas and his past? Why is it that Xigbar reveals so much about Xemnas' past to Zexion. The reason Xigbar as to why he's the chaser is because the chaser is the partner for the elder mage(Xehanort). The chaser would have always been next to the elder mage when he was conducting research. So this is why the chaser would know so many secrets about Xehanort. And now as Xemnas and Xigbar, Xigbar seems to remember what had happened in the past about himself and Xemnas. And if you think about it, if its true that the elder mage is Xehanort and the chaser is Braig, then the relationship between these two would be that Xehanort would be in charge of things and then Braig would be second in command. So then when they both become nobodies, Xemnas is ranked No.1 and Xigbar is ranked No.2. See the pattern?
Now I think that the Enigma Soldier(the tall one) is the [I]son[/I] of Xehanort. Surprising? Not really. Why? Because of the fact that there are so many things that the Enigma Soldier and Xehanort have in common. But remember that Nomura said that the three knights are completely new character. So there is no way the Enigma soldier could be Xehanort. If you look carefully, when the Enigma soldier takes his helmet off, the soldier's face is revealed and clearly the hair style, the facial expressions and the shape of the soldier's face are so similar to Xehanort(not during the stages as the elder, only when he was young again).
The remaining two soldiers, Ven and Aqua, they are just friends of the Enigma soldier. I reckon that they are not a family but are closely related.
Now, you might now be wondering if what I think is right, then why would Xehanort fight his own son and friends? Well maybe because that Xehanort was conducting research on the darkness of hearts and the enigma soldier wanted to help his father in his research. However Xehanort forbidded this and abandoned and left his son (the enigma soldier), to die. However the enigma soldier was brave hearted and lived all by himself and trained for days and weeks non - stop with the aids from Ven and Aqua. So a few years later, the enigma soldier finds out that his father, Xehanort had recently caused havoc all around the world and to stop this, the enigma soldier Ven and Aqua got together decided to put an end to Xehanorts chaos. And the place full of keyblades is where they decide to fight. To recap on this, during the cut scene between Zexion and Xigbar, Xigbar mentions people with blades of keys appeared and fought great battles. This talks about the three soldiers fighting Xehanort in many battles. After years of battle, Xehanort had found the way into darkness through his research, which is by summoning that big blue heart moon. So then Xehanort decided to destroy the three knights once and for all.
After losing to his father on the day Xehanort summoned the big blue heart moon, the enigma soldier gets all raged up and looks directly at the heart moon and suddenly his eye colour changes from a blue colour to an orange colour. This was the sign that the enigma soldier had given himself into the darkness and if you think about it, Xehanort and Xemnas both have orange eyes which I think symbolizes darkness.
Also during the cut scene when Xemnas had located the 'Room of Sleep', he'd talked to the female soldier's armor saying "It's been a long time old friend." The reason why Xemnas had said this was because when he was Xehanort, Xehanort knew that before he'd abandoned his son, that his son(the enigma soldier), Ven and Aqua were good friends in the past. So maybe Xemnas somehow regained his memories as Xehanort and is trying to taunt us and the female soldier. However what I do not know is on what purpose does Xemnas want with the female soldier and the other soldier which I presume is the boy soldier.
