I'd like to have a battle where I actually learn something instead of mindless posturing as most of my battles have been. So, this is an open challenge with some restrictions. I don't want Rikken, Wozza, WN, or anyone else who hasn't been here for as long as me.

I'm not being an elitist, I just want to have a battle where I can actually improve upon myself or my character. I'll be using Abel if you don't mind, though if I come up with a better idea before tomorrow than I'll use that character.

I've been here longer than you.

So, if you want a fight, I could give it to you.

Sorry Chariot, just DK for this battle. My template is below.
~~~~
Name: Abel R. Iverum
Title: The Metal Musician
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Occupation: Metal Musician/Wanderer
Height: 5' 6"
Weight: 160 lbs.
Complexion: Tanned Caucasian
Mental Age: 32
Physical Age: 23
Build: Moderate Athletic
Physical Depiction: Abel carries a unique blend of sharp ferocity and smooth peacefulness. A smooth but strong jaw gives him a commanding appearance. His clean shaven appearance carries a message of tidiness and self-care that is almost thrown off by his wild hair. The dark brown mess of spikes twisting and overlapping almost jeopardizes the clean-shaven neatness of his appearance, yet his strong and warm hazel eyes pull it together. For the most part, he’s built like a rock star. Thin but with defined muscle mass.
Current Attire: The closest article of clothing to his skin is the specially made form fitting suit, keeping his vitals monitored constantly. Over this dark grey bit of apparel he wears clothing that is more natural. A grey t-shirt covers his chest and boot-cut jeans fit easily around his waist and legs, leading down to scuffed black boots. Over his t-shirt he wears a black button down shirt that hangs open over his chest. Around his waist and his right wrist are matching bracers and belts studded with short metal pyramid spikes. On his left hand is a small watch-like device called the Soundshifter. This rock star image is completed with what seems to be a Gibson Flying V strapped over his back, but there has never been an sky blue Flying V before.
Personality: In a way that seems almost contradictory Abel is both unnatural and natural. The constant flow of music seems to surround him, working its way into his movements and his attitude as if he was constantly listening to a tune that no one else can hear. Abel’s unique attitude seems to make him immune to the daily grind around him, setting him above and beyond the normal working class. His constantly shifting flow of rhythm colours his life and his music affects those closest to him in its own way. This almost total control of his life by music suits him just fine, and he lets the music run through him, taking it into the world as a vessel for emotion and creativity.
Armaments:
Azure V: A custom made guitar with a beautiful sky blue body in the style of a Flying V with white frets and head stock. The form is smooth and solid. When picked up it turns out to be surprisingly heavy, too heavy for such an instrument. The guitar can be used for the simplest act of just playing it to riding it like a hover board. The guitar’s body splits apart slightly to reveal a small jet engine inside to propel it through the air when Abel needs to move quickly over long distances. The output of the engine can be aimed downward to enable him to hover in one place. In the most drastic of circumstances Azure V can be used as a melee weapon. Abel simply grasps the fret board just below the head stock. The sturdy guitar easily takes the strain of being used to attack and defend. Recent additions have been made to Azure V, making a much more versatile weapon. The guitar can now be held against Abel’s side, using it as a ranged weapon. A trigger placed in a recessed grove slides out when Abel activates this ranged mode and the guitar becomes almost gun-like. By squeezing the trigger Abel is capable of releasing concentrated bullets of sound from the head stock. Depending on Abel’s intentions the bullets can range from slugs to buckshot for close and long range combat.
Percussion Knives: A set of normal looking wooden drum sticks, but with a flick of the wrists they become deadly weapons. The top half of the drum stick changes into a gleaming sharp blade that can easily be used to take out threats. A more specialized use is as throwing knives, causing a delayed release of the blade for an element of surprise. Abel carries a set of these stuck through his belt.
Soundshifter: The most recent development in Music Machinery. The small device fits around Abel’s wrist, resembling a watch. Upon closer examination the outer edge of the watch face appears to rotate around the display. As it rotates the display shows pictures that determine it’s function. These function can be a simple as amplifying the music from Azure V or any of the instruments Abel plays. They can also be complex, such as monitoring the motions of Abel’s hands through his bio-linked suit and generating percussion instrumentation allowing him a much greater freedom of sound manipulation.
Abilities: The unique powers of music run through him, allowing a timed fighting style that throws off the enemy. The rhythmic motions of his fighting causes a distinct fighting style that utilizes both sound and physical force to eliminate threats. The power extends to manipulating the essence of sound and using it as a weapon. His power to manipulate sound extends deeper into the fundamental nature of the Omniverse, touching on the ability to effect the way it is structures and shift around energy and matter to a degree.
The second power of technological abilities gives Abel the ability to pull together bits of technology simply by focusing. This small power allows him to build devices that function temporarily with extreme precision and power before becoming totally useless. These powers reach into the teleporting of small devices that Abel understands enough to construct.
Along with his arcane abilities he has master quite a few styles of hand to hand combat, ranging from simple boxing to aikido.
History:
Abel was born into what could be considered high class society, his father a diplomat and his mother a composer. One finds it no wonder that Abel picked up a musical spirit as a child and not his father’s imposing rhetoric. His father was rarely home, but he provided with his travels, while his mother cared for him as she worked, humming and singing her tunes as she composed. Some of those close to Abel would say that this is the thing that shaped his most powerful skills in music, but his mother simply shrugs when asked about it.
Abel grew as any child would, going through all the phases and fads that any child could be expected to. The one thing that set him apart at this young age was the music that surrounded him. The children around him never complained that he hummed, sang, and played any instrument he could find, but his teachers complained that it wasn’t natural for a child his age to be so obsessed. His mother and father simply waved away their complaints and told Abel to do what he wanted. Through his parent’s encouragement his talent grew, awakening distinct and powerful rhythms of his life.
He came to be friend’s with a child of one of his parent’s maids, and they spent time together, exploring the world side-by-side. It was this friend, Aria, that taught him his second talent, the gift of mechanical workings. Together they perfected and shared their talents, building brilliant devices that pulsed with the same rhythm that they shared. As their friendship built higher into a trusting completeness they went through school and continued into careers.
Abel and Aria shared their lives as they left school, moving into their lifelong quest to completely combine the rhythm of life into machinery. Together they began a company, Rhythm Innovations, and sold their unique creations across the world. This startling new sort of technology brought forth a wave of industrial revolution on Iaynum, and more musical machinery was created by this new class of worker.
Having completed their goal on their home planet Abel and Aria reached a fork in their paths of life. Abel left Iayum with a heartfelt good-bye and made a pact with his companion that he’d come back and share with her the rhythms of the universe. Abel marked this as the start of the second half of his goal, and set off to spread machine music into the universe.
Abel’s first challenge on his travels came in the form of an alchemist going by the name Rikken. This alchemist faced off with Abel in an evacuated city that had been forgotten by time. The battle raged harshly, destroying the better part of a street. Abel lost the battle, but kept his life, learning that his dependence on music was a weakness. Swearing to himself to learn new ways of combat he began to work on Azure V and teach himself more techniques while enhancing his technological skills.
Abel found a quiet place to train at a temple on a hidden lake. Unfortunately he was accosted by an animated corpse. This corpse attacked, spewing poison and ravaging Abel’s sanctuary. Abel managed to prevail against the monster, striking him down with a massive sound wave, but his sanctuary was destroyed, and he was forced to move on.
Abel eventually challenged Rikken to another match. The two warriors met on a battlefield and clashed. Their powers proved to be equal, and the two formed a truce. The pair of warriors went onward to fight others as this new team.
Wow... this is going nowhere fast.
-- looks up at his own words -- Wow, I am still alive after all. I figured that I just disappeared again. I'll be watching.
Name: (Damien) Elendoth Elraith
Age: He has lived long enough to send many vassals about the world, and has seen through the eyes of each.
Race: Maiar
Appearance:
Elendoth has prominent Elven features, including slightly tipped ears and no facial hair. His hair is cut like that of his many vassals; shaggy, and in his eyes half the time. He modeled the vassal Damien after himself, so they share many of the same characteristics; molten copper colored hair, brown eyes, and they are of roughly the same build. Elendoth’s eyes carry a look of alternating hatred and pity, expressed sometimes at the same moment.
Usually wearing the golden armor that was crafted for him, Elendoth also ties a white sash around his midsection, adorned with his personal crest; the Elratu, or phoenix. Upon his pale chest is the same symbol, right where his heart would be. It provides him with both his life and his power, and is a deep red color, as opposed to the inky black of his heirs and vassals. The brown leather cord around his neck is tight, like a modern day choker.
Weapons/Armaments:
~Deltigoth: Damien’s main weapon, which changed after he assumed the name of Elendoth. To reflect the changes in its wielder, Deltigoth has assumed the form of twin swords, each bearing a slight curve in the blade. The pommels are still the color of gold, and their edges hold true.
~Orb of Acyre: The orb of Acyre provides Elendoth with a source of power, defined as a part of the Coalescence. It is about the size of a marble, and is ever shifting in color.
Skills/Abilities:
Elendoth has remained true to his past. He uses magick of the arcane, planar, and Coalescent fashion. As an experienced mage and a higher being, Elendoth uses these energies as he sees fit, and doesn’t require the use of spells. The effects of each type of magic often coincide, but are each a separate energy type, and as such some spells influenced by the Coalescence can prevail where the magick of Arcana cannot. Elendoth can also travel through the planes, manipulate worked metal, and converse with any living creature. These are part of his Maiar heritage, represented by the symbol of Elratu.
Bio:
Favored of the Gods
Being born to the gifted race of the Maiar, Damien was an apt pupil, excelling in both magick and sword play. The Maiar were a divine race along the land of Mythica, and there were only a handful in existence. They answered directly to the gods of Mythica, of whom little was known. Prayers were answered by the Maiar, sometimes in the form of direct aid, but more often in the form of magick cast from the heavens. Damien was one of the few to appear before his subjects, and was the one that organized the holy Knights of Ambrosia, an order dedicated to keeping the peace among the common folk. Everywhere he went Damien protected the weak and innocent, even those that offered prayers to his kin instead of him. This continued for several centuries, with Damien leading the forefront against pain and suffering all the while. He never once slowed, launching himself into battle again and again. As the Grand Teacher among the knights, he also schooled many in the art of sword play, including the children of royalty. Things went well, for a time. And then disaster struck.
Banishment from Illyriath
When his parents gave birth to another child using great energies, a bit of the dark side from the Coalescence managed to seep into the newborn. None of the Maiar recognized this, thinking that the child was simply going through a perpetual phase of cruelty. As the years went on the child-named Jared- began to antagonize Damien, and form plans behind his back. The two would butt heads every now and then, but nothing major came of the exchange, until Jared allied himself with the Arhtey- Maiar who had been cast from their realm for their impure mindsets. Together Jared and his army came against the rest of the Maiar, and most of them fell almost immediately. Backed into a corner, Damien brought his Knights against the divine beings, knowing that many of them would die- and they did. When it seemed that all would be lost the gods of Mythica intervened, resurrecting many of the fallen Maiar, and banishing both Damien and Jared. The two were reborn to a mortal woman, changing races in the process; they had become Gilgai, with hardly a fraction of their former powers. Beyond all else they were cut off from the Coalescence, which would have been a heavy blow, if they could remember their past lives.
The Bastion of Light
Even with but a fraction of his power, Damien still helped those that were in need. Along the way he met some extraordinary figures, including Valyon Lightstar and Methesulah the Ancient, two foes that were extremely powerful. Damien fought with the two, but each time both parties escaped with their lives. Damien drew a lot of knowledge from his short apprenticeship with Valyon, which he later used to great effect. Traveling between the universes and to different planets, each time saving them from defeat at the hands of his brother, Jared. This existence was one of a hero- or so Damien thought. Along the way he made some enemies, both from the stock of mortals and gods. It was during this time that his first vassal was created, with the name of Demayin. Eventually Damien and Demayin were reunited, and the beings gained power from the meeting. Finding a woman that Damien came to love, he also had a child with her, bearing the name of Luciane. That particular heir didn’t know that he was the child of Damien, and he spent much time searching the Omniverse for signs of his heritage. Another vassal named Arteyr was created some time later, and the many Elraith vassals traveled about the Omniverse, each acting independent of each other. As Damien found each of the vassals he regained some of his lost power, but his life was not to be quite so easy; disaster struck again.
Fall from Grace
Descending into the Abyss, Damien sought to rid the Omniverse of a powerful entity that was the lord of Hell itself. After a long and terrible battle that ripped holes in the fabric of the Omniverse itself, Damien was defeated by his opponent. Instead of being killed outright, Damien was changed into a demon, and his mindset changed to express that very fact; he began to torment the mortals above him, as well as those pitiful souls trapped in his dimension. This continued for many years, and Damien Elraith became a name that was hated by all. Many came down to try and destroy him, but most of them failed; all but one. Takumi the Tenth Muse nearly defeated Damien, and freed him from his fate using his control over Wyrd, or fate. Damien was released from his personal plane of hell, but Takumi himself was later killed in a battle, which Damien forced him to partake in. With his body ruined and his mind swelling with power. Damien finally remembered his heritage; he was a Maiar, and he was to return to the land of Mythica. In doing so he entered a church that was dedicated to his son Luciane, and there he met some of those that had traveled with Damien many years before. Slaying two of them, Damien received his prize- he regained his old body, and his former power was returned to him. Understanding that which had happened, he quickly explained to his Knights what had transpired, and after some years he was forgiven for his sins.
A Brand New Name
As he rose to in power among the Maiar, Damien took a new name, to try and distance himself from his old personae; Elendoth Elraith he was called, and he rose to the seat of power among the Maiar. He quickly gained control over the Coalescence, and was now a divine entity in his own right. He has begun to travel once again, and this time he does so as a Maiar; while he calls himself Elendoth and Damien interchangeably, he will probably be known exclusively as one or the other; many mortals had short memories, and would forget about the Gilgai that had returned as a Maiar; new relationships would probably have to be formed, except with those of sufficient memories and life spans to remember their old acquaintance. Either way was fine with Elendoth; he was just glad to be himself again.
