Umm... I'm pretty sure poetry counts as fanfiction... if not, my apologies. ^^
Anyway, I wrote this poem after watching a documentary the other day on 9-11. Warning: I cried after writing the poem, and I'm not too much of an emotional person. Especially not a sad one. So, for Todd Beamer:
It’s just another day
Time’s wasting away
I’m going home
I hang up the phone
After saying good-bye to my wife
My love; my life
And my kid a year old
So the last of my clothes fold
Into the suitcase they go
I’m going home, I’m going home
The hours go by
The plane starts to dive
I take out my cell
Wish my love well
I’m not coming home
I’m leaving her alone
Because this is my pride
I’m on this side
It’s my right
To go and fight
To stay free
To let my home be
A kiss to my daughter
A hug for my wife’s father
One last prayer for my soul
