IS it absolutley required to do the pegasus cup in order to go to atlantica after beating the parasite cages in monstro

atlantica was a pain for me 3 reasons why
1.I hate water
2.The whole place seems to get bigger and bigger
3.getting to the main boss pisses me off bad
