God of War 2 help? please

I got it yesterday and I've made my way all the way to the Phoenix Chamber. I've gotten an emerald but in the room with the spikes; I'm a little confused on what I'm suposed to do. I'm found the staute to slow the time down but when I go to turn the handle The spikes always seem to kill me no matter what.

I've looked on alot of sites and I've found a walkthrough but the person hasn't reached the area I'm at yet.

Alot of the walkthroughs I've found are for the demo disk.

you have to time it properly

when you hear the ticking get really fast, immediatly stop turning the handle, freeze time, and run to the door on the far right hand of the room. This isn't even the worst part of this challenge...wait till the next room...its not particularly hard, just REEEEALLY frustrating
