Name: Glade La’Terre

Nickname: The UltraCold End / The Shame of Demise

Age: 396 Novyalian years. He appears to be in his late twenties in human years.

Gender: Male

Home World: Novyal

Race: Novyalian

Appearance: Glade has a deep tone of green as his hair color. It has no true style, and it goes a few centimeters past his ears. He has a light skin tone, and light blue eyes, these being somewhat small. His nose is small and flat, and his face always wears a dull expression. A blank stare, with his mouth a cross between a frown and a smile. When he has an idea or a plan, one can see this blank mouth expression shift if only just slightly to a minor smile. He wears a plain white shirt with strange, black designs scattered throughout it, along with black baggy trousers. These trousers have a design of white vines in random places, in an attempt to mesh the colors. Over these two articles of clothing, he wears a long, silver cloak. From the bottom, black colored designs of vines rise upwards, and divide along the cloak’s back . He wears this unbuttoned most of the time, so from the front one can briefly see his shirt and trousers. On top of this cloak is a black cape. It covers Glade’s back, and the bottom is very jagged and looks ripped. He wears a gold necklace, which has a deep purple dragonstone implanted into it.

Personality: Glade is not a cruel man in any way. He is quiet, as if he is always reminiscing about his troubles. He feels it is his duty to help anyone he can, but for the same reason, he is full of rage. Yet, it is not to the point where one would think he had multiple personalities. He is the type of man who holds grudges to an extreme extent, and “wants” to be evil, but he is too soft. This in no way means he is frail on the battlefield. Glade fights for the good of the Omniverse, but has an ambition many would not understand. Being extremely unpredictable, and having enough motivation to carry him through, Glade is a ferocious fighter.

Weapon:

Vidofnir- Glade utilizes a small collection of weapons. Along with the basic shurikens, throwing knives, and needles, he carries a massive lance called Vidofnir. The shaft is the size of him in length, and it is made of the most beautiful white pearls in the Earth’s ocean. The head is made of glistening emeralds that were mined in Novyal. The reason he only has one main weapon is because it also has many defensive capabilities. As if it has a mind and conscience, it protects Glade divinely. Albeit, he is a man of defense, but the reach of his lance has caused more demise then you can imagine. On the bottom of the shaft is a purple gem. He never has used it in battle, and only he knows of it’s great importance.

Element: Ice

Glade manipulates and transmutes ice. To a lesser extent, he can make a gas or a liquid into ice, as well as working with ice to his will. When he has a supply of it, he can work at unbelievable speeds, but when he has none, he must extract water particles from the air. This takes more time, but gives Glade an edge in any arena. When actual ice is at his disposal, he can elongate it, absorb it, and manipulate it. This is somewhat a combination of a freak accident and a normal happening, as when Glade’s life took an unexpected turn, he had the opportunity to look at this as a blessing or a curse.

Abilities:

Ice Clones: Self explanatory. Manipulating ice in the shape of a human, Glade can’t supply them with free will or feelings, but he can give them one thing- demands. With only a mind, they listen to him, taking orders. Although they are ice, they are flexible, so they can latch onto someone or something, freezing them, or sometimes merely acting as a nuisance. Although, they are not entirely ice, Glade telepathically controls the water particles, making them somewhat “slush clones”. Their purpose remains the same, yet more versatile.

Frozen Defenses: Putting his power into his ice momentarily, Glade can make the ice act as a “shield” so to speak. By focusing his power on one specific piece, (not limited by size) he can have it defend him, launch it at someone, surround him like a coating, etc. Overall, it can be very lethal depending on the way he uses it.

Blizzard: Another self explanatory weather effect. Honing every water particle in the clear air to his will, Glade can rise a vicious blizzard. Although snow is not his specialty, it can still take a massive effect in battle.

Teleportation: Using the water particles as a “guide”, Glade can dissipate and recombine his molecular structure over short spans due to the fact what makes up the foundation of his body is also in the air.

Biography: Glade was born on Novyal, the first place where his life become an unorthodox journey. Before his life is even ventured into, his birth must be brought up. Yes, even as an infant, he was on a wild ride. His father Audhulma, and his mother Ivaldi were hiking up North. What made Novyal such an interesting world was that all four sections were immensely different. The South was barren wasteland, with small buildings and refuges built every couple of miles. The East was the rain quarter, full of monsoons, and torrential downpour every day of the year. The West a normal town, and yet, at the time, some unexplained weather effect let it to hail and sleet every day.

The Northern area was sheer cold, reaching temperatures such as negative forty degrees. The other areas had some... “strange” conditions, but hardly anyone settled up North. These four regions had no names, they were simply deemed their namesake, that being the direction they were. When his mother was seven months pregnant, and had no expectations of Glade being a pre-me, she agreed to go on one last “adventure” with her husband. When they had a child, everything would of course change, so the dynamic duo wanted to experience thrills one more time.

Oh, what a thrill they would get.

Going on a hiking expedition up North, a massive blizzard started. The cold could be dealt with using heaters and other futuristic necessities, but when a snowstorm emerged, problems came. Deciding to take refuge in a massive igloo that was set up by the theocracy dead north for any unlucky visitors, Ivaldi’s water broke in seemingly the worst possible time. Having some healing practice from being a hero in the fall of his nation, Audhulma had the ability to deliver his son. Just narrowly making it to the igloo in time, Glade “came out”, solving one problem, yet another of course remained. The blizzard.

Being exposed to the extreme cold with no proper care for a baby so young, Glade almost died of frostbite. Luckily, rescuers arrived on the almost impossible struggle back home, and Glade was immediately taken into safety. Audhulma and Ivaldi returned to their home, which was in the dead center of all four regions, an amazing vacation spot. With massive new found relief, Audhulma and Ivaldi returned to their jobs, waiting for Glade to get better for them to take him home from the hospital. A month later, they got a call, saying Glade’s illness had been treated. But when they arrived, they had another unpleasant surprise.

When Glade was born pre-me, he had a massive virus from an undeveloped immune system. When he got frostbite, this took over the infection, creating a virus that had the same effect, yet it had an unreleased “cold factor”. The doctors did not know he had the virus, so when they treated the frostbite of the undeveloped child, they only succeeded in extracting a part of the virus, even this being accidental due to failure of knowing. With a “free domain” so to speak for the virus to now roam, it went after the most developed part of this still only eight month old baby’s body.

His hands.

His palms, to be exact. When a doctor went to touch Glade after the operation, the water percent in his body (A Novyal body structure being very similar to a human’s) all froze into ice, killing the man instantly. When Glade’s parents arrived at such pandemonium, they had nothing to do but whimper like whipped dogs. They thought they failed as parents.

Yes, this all happened in his first month of life.

It turns out, Glade now had his abnormal, STILL unexplained ice powers. Being a baby, he could in no way hone them, and with all of the power in his hands, not spread out evenly throughout his body. When the doctor touched him, Glade somehow was not used to being touched, and his fear drew all the power outward, freezing the man from the inside out. As his parents sought an explanation, and on top of that, a cure, he lived at home, a happy bubbly baby, so oblivious indeed.

Being babysat for three months, Glade’s mother and father set off to a foreign world, Tixtiom. They maintained the feather of a phoenix there, and Ivaldi crafted it into a doublet of gloves. At the end of these ninety days, they returned exhausted from this quest. Growing up, Glade had to wear these gloves- at all times.

His parents feared the possibilities, and Ivaldi had no choice but to resign from being an assassin, and home school Glade. Things went well until he became about six. Of course, he was an outcast in town, barely getting out. He did not mind, his obliviousness actually made him happier. Living in his house, occasionally going in his backyard, Glade had no worries in his life, as his parents had all of them.

When he turned ten in Novyal years, he ventured outside, promising to wear his gloves to prevent an accident. (Albeit, he still was not knowing of the purpose he wore these.) The son of the doctor who was brutally killed by Glade approached him, he of course knowing of this “freak”. This boy knew a lot of things, actually. He also knew of the gloves. Laughing at Glade, cursing at him, and coaxing him, he ripped off the innocent boy’s gloves, and Glade was devastated. Not knowing what to do, he pushed the boy, in an attempt to fight. Little did he know, the power was still all in his hands, and the boy fell to the ground limply. Grabbing his gloves, and running home crying, Glade screamed to his mom, hugging her. It did not harm her, because now he was covered, but it still brought a chill down her spine. He immediately screamed, “IT WASN’T MY FAULT! I’M SCARED! MOMMY!”, and without a single question, she knew what had happened. Weeping silently to her self, she merely said, “who?”.

Sobbing, he replied “A doctor’s son! A mean one!”

Once again, almost immediately realizing what had happened, Ivaldi called Audhulma, who immediately arrived home. They were not evil people, but since there were no witnesses, they could not let anyone know what had happened. When someone DID find the body, they thought he hyperventilated, or suffocated. With the horrific secret safe, his parents had to tell him about his powers. In a long, devastating story, they came to the conclusion he had manipulation and control of ice. With his life in a completely new direction, Glade became a quiet child. He began learning how to use his powers. He never actually used them, but in his sorrowful life, he had to do something in his spare time.

At age thirteen, there was news on a woman who went hiking north and didn’t return. Everyone knew the north was the frozen area, so Glade intently asked his parents if he could go investigate. Reluctantly agreeing, he headed north, the cold having no effect on him. After three days, he found her in a makeshift igloo, freezing. She would soon be dead. Hesitating, Glade needed to use his powers to help her. Trying to calm down for a moment, he focused his “virus” that was in his hands, and moved it throughout his whole body. He then placed a palm foward, and the ice lifted off of the woman, and the whole area seemed to...cool off. Turning all of the snow into air, Glade began to tend to the woman’s injuries. Returning her home, he was praised as a hero. Some of the people in town who knew of his secret now looked at him with respect, and some who didn’t know now were confused but happy about it at the same time. As a gift, he received two purple dragonstones from the princess (coming all the way from the castle, that being an honor), the rarest gem’s in the world of Novyal.

Placing one of then in a pendant, and imprinting it in a necklace, Glade wore it around, trying to find a purpose for the other one. His parents began to be proud of him, not afraid, and his life began turning around.

Then, one day, his father left. He didn’t explain why. He merely stated he was needed...to help fight evil again. Glade’s father’s past was very fuzzy to him in the first place, and now he was perplexed. It turns out, his father was traveling to Ashen, and fighting an epic battle. In a fight with a demon, his soul had been imprisoned, and he became a lifeless shell. Returning home just barely, he explained his tale to his wife and son, admitting his only hope would be to sacrifice his body. Although he would be gone, he would have won the fight, dying in peace and as a hero to the Ashen. He gave his son a lance, Vidofnir, and told him he needed to use melee, not always ice. In a tearful goodbye, Audhulma had departed from the living of the Omniverse, fighting a never ending epic battle with the forces of evil in a far off world.

Glade found what to put the other dragonstone on.

By the time he was fifteen, Glade came to the conclusion this virus would never leave, and would always be his source of power in ice. With his father gone, his mother and him became much closer. Training in the art of the lance, Glade found out the true purpose of the dragonstones. Divine protection...always. They originated when the ancestors of the current king and queen both had one as a symbol of their love. They promised to always protect each other. They were passed down over generation and generation to the royalty...why did Glade, of all people, receive them?

Shortly after, Ivaldi retired from being an assassin. She was needed to move southward to be a mentor to new students...a whole new wave of fighters was coming for the war ahead...a war that wasn’t spoken about at all. Why was the monarchy secretly preparing for it without telling about it? Being the best one to do it, Ivaldi could not refuse to be a mentor. She was not dead, but she would be saying goodbye to Glade for a long time. Being seventeen, he could fend for himself...and yet, he dedicated the dragonstone on his necklace to his mother. With another tearful goodbye, he promised his mother everything would be fine, and they would reunite. With a dragonstone dedicated to each of his loving parents who never gave up on him, Glade pondered what he was to do with his life. He kept his gloves as a keepsake, but did not wear them any longer. With his ice powers at full disposal, due to the virus being spread through his body, he decided to go in exile for many years to train, and became powerful...powerful enough to protect anyone he would possibly love in the future.

He remained in exile for seventy years, (keep in mind this is approximately eight human years). This “war” was in full force now. One day, Glade’s dragonstone on his necklace sparked. It turned pink for a moment..then it became deep, crimson red... It stayed like this for several days, and then it returned back to normal. The other stone was fine...Shrugging it off, the now extremely strong Glade was once again oblivious. When he dedicated the stones to his parents, they monitored the lives of the ones he loved. His father was dead, but at peace, so the stone remained purple. But his mother had been severely wounded, and was in critical condition. During those seven days, medics tried as hard as they possibly could to save her, and just barely succeeded. When her life was no longer in risk, the stone returned. Speculating this, but never having proof, Glade continued training, knowing his mother was alive. Whether it was the stone, or not, he just had that gut feeling. Returning home several years later, the war had ended, a war he had no idea even happened.

It was a Civil War, arguments arose between who was claiming the property in the north. It seemed that when Glade cleared that small area, a strange thing happened to the ecosystem, and it cleared out, revealing beautiful, empty planes. The West and the East both claimed this, and could never agree on what. Even the theocracy divided into two, each favoring one side of the argument. The South split in half amongst itself, each on one side, creating a massive world war. Ivaldi had been severely wounded, but of course survived. The war ended, leaving Glade once again oblivious upon his return.

Now being extremely strong, Glade searched for his mother, knowing she was still alive. He roams the Omniverse looking for her. He would do anything to find her, and he knew he would. It was his gut feeling...and it was the dragonstone. He knew she was fine. As a hobby, he occasionally finds himself on the battlegrounds, fighting. Perhaps, for information. He is not worried he will never see his mother, he knows he will. Glade is positive...it is just a matter of time. Still not knowing the great powers his lance held, and how it was forcefully implanted with his father’s divine protection, Glade battles opponents fearlessly and laid back, hopefully finding out anything about his mother.

I'll also judge, but if it's alright, I'll actually join this rp battle. I know I said I was busy before, but this is too good an opportunity to pass up.
