We kind of knew that already, but glad you brought it up.

But I know this has been said as well, still I wanted to bring it up.
The character names.

Have you noticed that their names being: Terra, Aqua, and Ven= Earth, Water, Wind are related to their respective special modes? Same can be said for their regular character sets. Terra being earth is stronger/ stern but slower, Ven is fast/ swift like the wind (lol) and Aqua's moves are similar to Wisdom/ Master being relatively quick but having a more easy flowing pattern of attack similar to the flow of a calm stream.

All of these comparisons are killing me but you get the idea XD

i think i get what your saying. anyway all this just shows really is that sora can't compare to VAT when using a keyblade

Assuming LS is Terra (which i still feel is or at least is connected to him). it didn't look like you beat him, more like you just snapped him out of some dazed confusion he was in. At the beggining of the fight Terra was mumbling words and sounded confused but when you "beat him" he starts speaking coherently plus he didn't seem hurt or anything. oh and what you said, Sora had help

I don't think Sora actually defeated him.
I think you just woke him up out of a trance-like state that maybe MX or Maleficent put him in
After you fought him, he woke up and could actually speak literately
