Been in the top every week since release in the US. Figured I might as well just write a guide. Hopefully this guide dispels the "Top 10 people are hackers" propaganda I've watched on this site so far. My name is Elie, and I am the leader of the Beginners Guild. Dedicated to helping new members.

Q) What advantages are there to a high ranking on the ladder?
A) Aside from EXP medals, a Moogle medal, and Avatar coins. It's pretty pointless honestly. Not going to lie about that. Lol.
Q) Are there more legit ways to ladder than what this guide says?
A) If there is, which is doubtful, no one in the hardcore parties has created a method so far.
Are you familiar with Raid Bosses? Hopefully. If not, they are enemies that appear every so often. The trigger is still being debated because there are numerous bits of Mission 108 being repeated nine times with no result. The common belief is every 20 enemies defeated, a raid boss will trigger.
The simplest for most players appears to be Guard Armor which can be spawned within every three times all of the heartless in Mission 57 have been defeated. This Guard Armor is a Red one specifically unlike the stronger variant in later missions. Each time Guard Armor is defeated, he will level up. Not only that, but his Lux will increase as well with Lv 30 providing 32K Lux.

The best method of killing it faster for me, has been attacking the feet with single target multihit medals first. After taking them out, use multitarget all multihit medals Like KH2 Cloud. After stunning it for five turns it's slashing away and or using special attacks. Treasure Trove with a complete set of Red medals is obviously the best option. While not the best medal set clearly, this is what I use currently

I should note that none of these medals are guilted so you don't need to shove cash into your character to get this strong.
Now, with this increased lux output comes my explanation as to how these top ten users are not hackers. Pay attention to "Own Raid Bosses Fought"

This is my current kill count for raid bosses. I've been slaughtering them to reach the Top 50 since release. Now look at the current Top 1 user found here

He's been slashing away at these things like it's his job. Easily making my count look minimal. It's hard work that gets you into the top 10. Wasted work? I would agree honestly.
